This is the video I needed. I was so confused by the instructions, I left the total gym mid assembly for 3 days until I found this video. It is now up and running and I tested the accessories. Thank you so much for taking the time to show how to setup and put the accessories together!

Thank you for the video. Your instructions were much more clear than the pamphlet provided for set up.

These clear instructions helped a lot with the setup of my Apex G5. Thank you very much. I hate assembling things since factory instructions are never too clear. 10/10 with the video. Very clear and understandable instructions.

I bought this exact model for $230 back in 2020… right before the lockdown. It’s a good machine if you are willing to put the time into using it. I have a pair of 55lbs adjustable dumbbells that I can combine this machine with. I also have a stationary bike I bought online for well under $200. I have everything I need

How is this model flimsy wide is it pretty stout, I can buy one of these for 150 or a fit for 300, thanks
@deerparkhomeshop2471
Ай бұрын
@@dannywalker6279 It's sturdy for the price. The more expensive models are, of course, beefier. I'm over 200 lbs. and It doesn't sag or otherwise seem stressed by my weight. All of the frame and hardware are made of steel. I tested all the parts with a magnet to make sure of this. While the pulley housing is made of steel, the pulley itself is made of plastic, as are the adjustment knob, the caps on the leg ends, and the rollers on the seat. Also the squat attachment is plastic with steel legs. Hope this helps.
Mike, I have a Total Gym xtreme that has a similar Height Adjustment Column and two-pin system for the XL7 you demonstrate in your KZread video. Thank you for holding the camera so that the mechanism's details can clearly be seen. I’ve watched too many videos with poor contrast or picture-in-picture frames that block a clear view of what one is supposed to see. After pulling out the Black Knob-Pin and getting the Height Adjustment Column into a 90-degree position relative to the Center Support Rail, my problem has been getting the Height Adjustment Assembly to smoothly move past the zero position on the Height Adjustment Column. The Yellow (Red in your video) Knob-Pin won’t move and release. After bathing it in lubricant, even placing my foot on the Back Crossbar doesn’t give me the leverage I need to move the Height Adjustment Assembly from zero up the column. I tried spraying the part of the Assembly that wraps around the column liberally with lubricant. That frees up the Yellow Knob-Pin just enough to give me enough leverage between my foot and the Crossbar, but I still end up out of breath before I even start a workout! In your video, the Yellow Knob-Pin and the Height Adjustment Assembly all move smoothly. When I was able to get the product to work, I was satisfied. But I HATE this part of the setup. Do you have any suggestions for dealing with these sticky parts? Warren Goldstone [goldstone.warrens@gmail.com

If I don't exercise for a few weeks my carriage tends to stick in the down position and can be difficult to break loose. When I take it down now I set it on the #1 position instead of letting it go all of the way down. It still folds and stores properly. Of course, you have a different model but you may want to try this and see if it works for you.
Thank you for your detailed instruction -- it was idle for about a month as I didn't know what to do...After viewing the video, I was able to set it up myself. Much appreciated!

One solution is to buy a carpet runner like they use in long narrow entry halls. It's a bit of a paint to roll up after each use. What I finally did was to use the mat they supplied and cut it in half. One have for the front and one half for the back.
Thank you so much! I would not have gotten mine together without them!

A BIG 'Thank YOU' for sharing this. 🤜I just received mine yesterday and got up excited to use it...THEN came 'the set up'... I started searching for help videos since the DVD included with mine was not clear enough for me. Yours is the 3rd video that I came across... all of the others were NOT AS detailed and well explained as yours. 🌞Thanks again.. I truly appreciate you. Mine didn't come with a mat (didn't get the XL) however everything else was included. I have saved your video so that I can come back and watch it again and again... 😄

Damn. I was considering order this item, but after watching this video and seeing how complicated it is to put it together and attach all of the extra attachments, I just do not have the patience to tackle a project like this.
@deerparkhomeshop2471
7 ай бұрын
You think this is complicated, I once bought a single station home gym with a weight stack, leg press, bench press, and other exercises. That took a whole day to put together.
The floor mat is I think a yoga mat. It's for doing other exercises on and not for the Total gym to stand on. I have a newer Fit Max Total gym. The yoga mat did not come in my box.
@deerparkhomeshop2471

I probably should have thought of that, but it's not a very good yoga mat either. It's only about 1/4" thick. Thank's for the heads up.
Hi Mike. Thanks for you excellent video instructions. My friend gave me a used Total Gym, DK/XL 046393. It sat in my garage for a couple of years. Having no clue of how to use it. I was stupid enough to remove the cable & tried to reassemble cable with pulleys. I messed it all up. Could you please help me with reassembling it correctly. thanks.

I'm not sure what would cause this since it hadn't happened to me. I'm assuming you've try jiggling the upright column back and forth and this didn't free it up. If the machine is set up, you could try tapping the exposed metal pin with a hammer and punch to loosen. Also, you can easily remove the pin assy. with a wrench for inspection. The spring may have broken inside. According to the manual the part no. is RR106SB. You could contact Total Gyms parts dept. at 1-800-541-4900 ext. 5, especially if it's still in warranty.
