I like how Justin got more character development in season 2. He really needed it after his early exit in season 1.

It's so crazy that they didn't put him in World Tour because I think that his dynamic with Alejandro would've been really interesting to see. It could've been the first time he's truly felt inferior to someone and it could force him to realise that looks aren't everything. It's such a wasted opportunity. A rivalry between Justin and Alejandro would've been so perfect!

I love how it’s universally agreed that him, Lindsay and Harold carried TDA

Justin started off so strong, then the writers took him a different direction. I wish we could've seen Justin keep the strength that he showcased in the first few episodes for the rest of the season.

They were too focused on making Justin funny to let him be a Strong Antagonist. Honestly, it wouldn’t have been an issue if they’d just put Courtney in from the very beginning to be the Antagonist or if they added another comedy character instead (I’m thinking Noah, Cody, Tyler, or Cody could’ve provided some good gaffes to let Justin drop the humor).

When it comes to Justin VS Alejandro, they're both unbelievably vain and have no gripes with breaking alliances or being manipulative. But the difference is how they view other people. Alejandro places himself on a pedestal and views those unlike him to be scum basically. Any friendliness he showed during TDWT was an act. This is what separates Alejandro/Justin. Aside from being slightly manipulative or selfish at times, Justin didn't put on a persona -- his interactions with other contestants were genuine. It was no secret that he put himself first, but this didn't mean that others weren't worth his time. He'd even pay genuine compliments to others, no matter who. While Justin sought approval from females specifically, Justin still had truly amiable interactions with Duncan, Owen, and Harold. Etc.

If you see the only person Justin was attracted was Courtney, that he started looking for her brains and later notice her looks. So, if Alejandro was smart enough to approach talking to him about strategy and tempt to form an alliance with him, it would be probably easy. But if Alejandro try to seduce him with his looks, like he did with Bridgette, Justin would probably feel threaten and start hating him, like with Brady.

But yeah you're probably right, talk strategy with him first, form the alliance, then start with the casual flattery before outright "confessing" that he's always admired him.

justin has always been my favorite character in the show, kind of a more sinister Lindsey I think he worked well as a villain and I definitely prefer him to Alejandro, who is pretty much Gary sue Justin.

Alejandro was too perfect, Justin’s flaws made him a hilarious character. Episode 19 with him Duncan and Harold is peak comedy

Like some other people pointed out, I'd agree that Justin isn't the "antagonist" he's made out to be by the viewership. Any TDA video or bio related to Justin will bring up his "antagonistic qualities" -- but he actually had more friendly and neutral moments than villainous/deliberately mean moments. He was also genuinely in love with Courtney and had no ulterior reasons for liking her. Backstabbing Harold was a bit cruel but everyone backstabs each other on Total Drama, and I believe Justin had a slight remorse for it. Manipulating Beth, like he planned to do, never went anywhere either. Justin treated everyone as equal(ly inferior)s. Finally, I like Justin wasn’t even mad about being voted off - he was more-so bummed that no one would miss him. His parting words were “this competition just got 80% less handsome,” which implies that Justin IS capable of seeing the “20%” good qualities in everyone else, right lmao.

I personally like Justin better than Alejandro because Alejandro was just too overpowered and had too much control over the game. Justin was funny and had his limits. He wasn’t knocking multiple people out the game and he didn’t do anything terribly evil. To me he was just more likable to watch. Is Alejandro a star player ?, yes he is. But I though Justin was a star too and did things in a more enjoyable likable way. In other words I’d take Justin over Alejandro all day every day

I actually love Justin sm, i have a weird obsession with him. if im not wrong, we know hes a teeny tiny bit sarcastic sometimes, its like his love language in my opinion. He’d be my favourite character forever, like im not saying im insane for him, hes just hilarious. Again, love that guy. Also heres a fun fact: when Beth wheeze laughed at 1:52, it was pretty normal. When she was 10, she went too the doctor. Then the doctor’s earring fell in her throat, making it uneasy for her too scream or laugh loud. Also uh heres a second one, Justin was a test tube baby.
