It may seem strange in 2023, but for me it's the best Football Manager I've ever played

You and many more. For me, TCM is at least in the top 5. Fantastic games all around!

I remember that if you had Fifa 2004 installed, you could manage the team in TCM 2004 an them play that match in Fifa, that was awesome!

Is this the club manager game where you can buy a house and car for yourself!? I remember having personal income to spend in one of these games. But can’t remember !

Found my copy of this game the other day. It reminded me how good the game was. To cure an itch, I had to check if anyone had made any videos on it. Surprisingly not much out there, but it brought me to your channel. I've been trying to get the game to work on my PC, but keep getting a message about the game needing hardware acceleration? I've enabled it in the graphics settings, but still no luck. Any help - anyone? I found some guides on my abandonware. Add game to steam library etc... Anyway, great video. I never played beyond TCM04 but hope to see some more of the FIFA manager series here.

I will post more, though I am having trouble getting those older games to work. I am now in the process of installing FIFA 07, though it's been a pain in the ass really, as it won't work on Win11... soon I hope

I liked also this game because despite it's flaws it is a complete and expandable game. You can almost make whatever content you want, you can create badges, shirts, sponsors and teams by using the game editor. The 3d engine is a bit dated and the animations and player reactions laughable but you can be basically a chairman of a selected team and in later episode you can have an option to make your own team. You have private life, you can buy things that gives status or improve your options to get money and you can also pump money back to your club and helping them financially. Despite the game is old you can also mod it a little bit of degree but I am not a master of making games yet because I have some idea how to revive this game, keeping the better mechanics and add everything else. Fifa manager later on was butchered down and football manager while it was an okay game it does not gave you the freedom to make your own stadium and do all the stuff what this game had offer. Also a hint you mentionned in the video - You can get the game from abandonware and use steam to run the game. If you try to use any cd iso version it would not work because the securom protection is there or worse scenario it will not recognize your cd like how happend with me. Use simply an unpacked version, no need to install, apply the 1.2 patch and run the game with steam. It will reduce the window size but at least running and you can play.

That's a great hint! I will like the comment, hope it will help someone who is looking to play this GEM! I really appreciate your comments. Pretty bummed that there is no continuation of FIFA Manager series these days.

@@derangedraven Because they basically lived on the fifa instead of the manager side. The managerical part is less charming for many player than the simple choose a character and shot goals. Also the football manager basically took this niche but that's another thing why they had not improved the game engine nor the full chairman options like what TCM had. Fun stuff but if you play TCM2003-2004 up to Fifa manager 2008 you still can load the database. Basically all the improvements are there in the later versions but the problem was a lot of good stuff were removed. Once I or someone who decent at coding and making art takes this idea and revive this game series with a different name. Enough if they let you make edit your own game also add an unofficial real life football mod where you can play the real leagues with real names and teams. I personally would go for a fantasy name but realistic league system with all countries represented with the option to make your own country, football league. I have a lot of idea how the series could improve yet stay relative basic so people does not need to see the whole complexity if they do not want too.

yeah that is right. Some people want to score goals themselves, I personally like both concepts, to play and to manage, so I play everything!@@sziklamester1244

You can use a Virtual Machine to run it. I was pleasantly surprised to see I could run both 04 and 05 on my steam deck using proton. Runs like a dream!

I should also add I installed them both by installing via Lutris and using a no cd crack (I own both games on cd rom). I plugged a dvd drive into my deck but you can install via a windows PC and then transfer the files over. Lutris creates a windows directory to run the games from.

Football club manager series is what it is, it’s good, but it doesn’t give me the feeling that this game gives me. Football manager feels a bit soulless and flat

I would put FM on top of my list. Though I like FA Manager, TCM, FIFAM and CM too.
