Joeman. One good way to gain income to hit the races and be involved with broadcasting, is to think our free enterprise, (what we have left to work with). You have a channel and a chat room that attracts people from all over the world, and manufactures in the industry will probably be interested in sponsoring you if you can put a good package together to present to them. No "welfare" or "for the community crap", (but nothing wrong with Raffles/Lottery for example).--this is about profit,--if you want to make any. You are in a position to grow Joeman. Plan a direction and give it a try. You have nothing to lose, and you may amaze yourself. Doug By the way, I am feeling great and riding a bit again, and have my bike set up almost perfectly for me. The bike is lowered a bit, got rid of the batman art plastic, got much more low end power out out the engine, (short shift with no clutch, and it does not bog, even with a MX14 scoop tire on the rear with stock {a bit high for me usually} gearing at my 190 lbs.). And it turns on a dime but also stable at speed. What a earned joy. :) Doug in Michigan

@@joeman25 We live the results and have to deal with them every day, and that is just about as far as we tend to think. But I know the cause. And when you know the cause, you can think of solutions. :)

See? This is why I see the difference of how the sport started, and how it is now. I was 12 years old, with a part time job making $1.00/hr. for the next 6 years, and bought a brand new dirt bike every 2 years,-----before I got a busboy job after HS making $3.35/hr (min wage at the time). I worked after that, went to self paid college part time to get a 2 year degree in machining, bought a new mini truck, new bikes, all my own expenses (with a little rent at this time), making $4.00 in the late 80's. The 1986 production rule imposed on the USA by the jealous FIM, and the EPA dictatorship forcing the more powerful (and more dangerous) 4-stroke engine on the industry, both at least doubles (close to tripled) the cost of a bike in short time after those forced interactions on our free enterprise. So here we are, the motor sport for the masses has become the sport of the high middle class and up,--like Horse Polo, (only if the parents did it, as they dwindle away too.). The new young fans who really don't know anything about the sport, and never rode, don't help the direction either, and they can be used for further bad direction. I think about stuff like this a lot, like a college study. I see the difference that bad policy makes and comes from. Doug in Michigan

See, min 0:08 I don't like the "5 point red star" that stains the "O" in the word "Motocross" on the Lucus oil banner behind the podium. It is a world wide known symbol that means something, but I see nobody is rejecting it. Bummer.

I raced at red bub more than any other track in the 80's and 90's. But it would have cost me a grand by myself, to go the last MXofN there (4 hours away driving) if i camped there for one night, or got a local hotel. You can blame the FIM mo9re than any otehr single entity, (sans the dictatorship EPA), for the cost and dysfunction of the sport today. They have not put a successful series together for many at least several decades, the MXGP are failing before our eyes, and we let those dysfunction progressive bums take over our racing. SMX? Nobody will remember it in 5 years, not even the champs. Will the racing survive in the USA is what I am concerned about. FIM track record,---says NO. We need to separate them from the AMA, (FIM are the bosses of the AMA), and deport the FIM, to have a chance to thrive.
