Reformers say the lighting is bad because it can't dogfight, that dosent matter when your enemy can't see you or detect you and gets hit with a missiles from 100 miles away lol. The lighting is the Boogeyman, it's silent, invisible, and above all else it's incredibly efficient at everything. There's a reason just about every NATO country has bought the damn thing

How is their country's manufacturing capability relevant? The US basically consists of 50 smaller countries, of course it can outdo them. There's the famous statistic that if California were its own country it would be the world's 5th largest economy by GDP. And that's only less than 15% of the US's GDP. So the country of origin is not that relevant to criticism of the F-35. If anything, it would amplify it, with the argument being that a program with that many resources behind it shouldn't have these flaws. My comment is not a criticism of the F-35. Just a criticism of your comment.

I love everything about the F-35. Power to weight ratio greater than 1, 5th gen radar absorbent material, AMRAAMs galore, VTOL and STOL... the list goes on and on

@@kmsbismarck9384 Tbf, it depends on the situation if of course it's a 1v1. in manoeuvrability, F-35 actually rivals the F-22 and F-16 of which of course the fastest turning speed that you can get. (in simulations, F-35's manoeuvrability was actually restricted) as quoted by mentor figure: This is not to undermine F-35’s kinematic performance especially with years of misinformation and outright nonsense. Ever since the release of Block 3F, we see F-35 routinely beating F-15C in BFMs (traditional gun-fight) as well as going against clean F-16s while carrying Air-Ground weaponry as the Dutch pilots found out, “Remember, back the rumors were that the F-35 was a pig. The first time the opponents [F-16s] showed up [in the training area] they had wing tanks along with a bunch of missiles. I guess they figured that being in a dirty configuration wouldn't really matter and that they would still easily outmanoeuvre us. By the end of the week, though, they had dropped their wing tanks, transitioned to a single centerline fuel tank and were still doing everything they could not to get gunned by us. @@_ThreeStrikes_ no you wouldn’t, depends who you’re up against. I’d say a single squadron if not less (1/2) for a country like Argentina, you’d maybe need 50 for something like Russia. China you’d probably need more than a reasonable number yes (based on the assumption their own 5th gen are actually 5th gen) A10s are not stealth and are at risk from any basic 4th gen fighter, attack helicopters and ground defences

i find it kind of ironic that the plane is called the "lightning" yet it cant get too close to a thunderstorm.

Lol no it's not. PESA radar against a 3rd gen AESA radar with insane electronic warfare capabilities plus stealth makes the F-35 win any BVR fight against Su-35 with ease. Even within visual range the F-35 has the advantage due to being able to target an aircraft and fire a missile at it without having to angle its nose towards it

That's NGAD's job. These guys are the ones we'll use for CAS and SEAD missions against peer-level opponents. The fact that they're also stealthier than almost every other jet in the sky--and can be used to shoot down those jets just as easily--is just the icing on the triple-decker LockMart cake.
