@@Kays_Customs yeah but the hitboxes on the boss' abilities are way bigger than they look, especially the claws. it's touhou levels of moving if you don't want to take damage.

Thank you for your very well explained, extensive explanation. I haven't been able to defeat Papulatus, I can't even clear the pre-quest, mainly because I don't know what to do. I have read some guides, but it is easier to understand by watching it. I'm glad you're doing these videos because some other boss videos are really old and nobody takes the time to update them.

The pre-quest is not that bad, only the "defeat Papulatus" part is the awful one. Maybe now that I'm lvl 180, I could attempt it once again.

Thank you for the very informative guide! I was SOO annoyed by this boss when I first fought it (on Easy). There was so much going on and there was a potion cooldown. It was horrible. But now I understand Papulatus' attacks now.

It's SO much easier with a party. Have two people block the lasers, and everyone else deal damage.

I just did my first pap run today not knowing the boss fight at all. and boy is it a good thing that I had enough attack to blast him with my xenons lazor before he did any of this stuff. if that lazor didn't do the trick I would have been in a world of hurt dealing with all these abilities pap has.

Question: is it possible to bypass the healing/ lockdown phase by binding him a third of the way through and nuking him? Or does his lockdown break out of bind like in Pierre breaking out of bind by changing hats? I was doing very well on my cpap run, my time in was I want to say less than 2 minutes, maybe a minute and a half to get him to lock down when I used the classic bind and nuke him with the new 5th job skill, until he reached his healing phase. Bitch healed 100% because I forgot to use the portal. My thinking is if I bind him around 20% hp, and kill him in the time of bind, I could get Final Pact activated for the final phase and kill everything he summons with calamitous cyclone using the invincibility from Final Pact. But if his lockdown breaks him out of Erda Nova it won't work. Will this work? I'm eager to get my first cpap clear! Help me out, bro!

Sorry for the late reply, been building the new pc! It should work! I know pierre is on a timer so binding him doesn't work, and he'll split even if you JUST binded him, just because he's on a timer. Pap isn't on a timer, it's just based on his current hp. So if you can bind him a little early and burst him down, you should be ok. Though I'm not really 100% on that, I'll have to test it out myself, but he hasn't gone into that phase for a while for me as he dies semi quickly.

@@KyoWantsCute No problem! I'm hoping it works. I have yet to try it fully buffed with all my usual attack coupons, but I'm really hoping to add cpap into my weekly boss routine. I shaved cvell down to 2 minutes with all my att coupons this last run, so if binding him at low hp and nuking him works, I shouldn't have any problem. Now there's just lotus and Damien after that. You got this!! Progress~! Lotus is more than just a damage sponge, good luck on the rng! As for damien, yeah you'll be fine if you're nuking cvel in 2 mins. I mean, he'll still be annoying and take a while to kill, but I find damien to be easier than Lotus. Just that the fight is longer.

@@KyoWantsCute Just an update for anyone reading this in the future, binding him at low HP and nuking him to bypass his lockdown/healing phase DOES work. I cast Erda Nova on him at a little under 3rd hp and nuked him and he went straight to his last phase. Final death count 1 excluding Final Pact.

Nothing really except for the papulatus mark which is an amazing item once you scroll and flame it then transpose it onto sweetwater.

To the boss; they made him more of a party boss, though no one wants to party up for him and take the challenge solo. To the game; they made progression easier in the early levels to make it so that you wouldn't get bored of using the same terrible skills for a week or more.

Did you spend on cubes? What do you think of it?

Mainly time. Been playing since 2006. Events, and new ways to increase damage were released. Then I worked on link skills when they were released, then eventually commerci came out and it was super easy to get the armor and weapons, so I used them for a while. Then reward shop came out and I was able to get the SW items to legendary after a loooooooong time. However it was worth it, because then I could kill CRA and get armor for my mules/side characters as well as guildies. Then a good friend of mine gave me some really good equips, and I'm still using them to this day. Primed CRA hat, top and bottom.

does the timer on my head on second phase one shot me on chaos mode?

@@NathanHawleyCPz Ooh! During that mode your potions gain a cooldown. I think you can only use potions every 5 or 6 seconds. I'll try it out in chaos to see if there's a difference, like maybe you can't heal at all. But in this video I was doing normal to showcase his skills.

lol that part where it heals, I totally screwed it up after finally getting it down to that part of the fight. I was collecting the timers and was like ok now what? Completely forgot to press up on the portal lol. 100% heal GG.

@@KyoWantsCute Yeah lol I just recently started playing again with the Neo update. haha today is the day nPap will go down! I finally beat CHT and nArkarium for the first time after all these years! Couldn’t believe how easy it was. CZak is harder than CHT which is weird. My highest level is 206 Paladin now with . I’m gonna try nMagnus and hRanmaru too. I got ezCygnus down to 1/4 so I wonder if I can do it. Keep up the good work! Also, If you can, what do you recommend for accessories? Like is there a tier? Idk where to start like gollux, sweetwater, whatever else. I’m f2p, but I do have like 2b and 10k mp. I know to go for CRA/Absolab for equips.

@@XanhDT89 I play Pally in Reboot too, level 221 now. CZak has been harder than CHT ever since the revamp, so no issue there. if you can beat nArk, you can pretty much beat nMag and hRan too. i'm not sure if you are able to get carries and whatnot but if you are able to get carries, then CRA should be no issue for you. if not, get the von leon set first, 10 star everything and cube them to at least epic with 2L %str each. use a sweetwater weapon and try to get 2L %att. accessories wise, the alien set is good, since it has ring, earring, pendant and belt. the rest of the rings you can use plat cross ring, silver blossom and noble ifia for the time being. if you can get event rings, those are good too. same thing, at least epic and 2L %str. cape wise, wings of fate, at least epic, 2L %str. with these, you should be good to solo CRA. work your way slowly from there to progress =D would recommend you to watch halifaxia reboot on his paladin solo progression series. its pretty much what i said above =)

I haven’t really looked for carries, but I’ve been trying to solo CRA, mainly von bon and Pierre and got really close! I’m getting used to the mechanics since it’s my first time doing it, but I should be able to. I almost got hMag too, but ran out of lives with 1/3rd hp left. I can do nCyg, cZak, cPB, and hHilla also. Thank you for the equip recommendations!

@@XanhDT89 yeah, hRan is madman Ran =D you should be able to do chicken at around 9k stat, and the whole of CRA can be done at around 11k. watch the videos from halifaxia reboot, he gives a good breakdown on how to do CRA as a pally. we can pretty much tank everything so it should be easier than other classes. good luck!

You can enter easy at 115, normal at 155 and chaos at 190. As for when you could kill it solo, I'm not sure, depends on how strong your character is.

I like this one because there's more to do and worry about unless you have a party. The old pap wasn't all that threatening after a while. His two best attacks were reducing your hp and mp to 1 while hiding in his clock, and dispelling all of your buffs. Sadly with the removal of dispel from the game, he only had one attack that I would consider dangerous, but even then you can just heal after you get hit. In the old days the bombs would be a threat too, but not so much anymore. Just my reasoning for liking the new changes.

@@Edzter It became solo because no one wants to party, even though they want more party play. The only thing I can see being solo play right now is training since they ruined the exp gain while in a party. Currently to get decent exp in a party, you need HS, and a party of people who are all attacking/handling their area. Even then, solo exp is still technically better, but you won't be lonely. I do hope something is done to make the game have more choice in whether or not you want to solo. Maple 1 seems to have the mindset of "i have to solo everything" while maple 2 is the opposite "i can't do anything on my own, i need people" If only there was a balance. Perhaps increasing party quest exp to be equal to or slightly greater than grinding exp, with the bonus of getting decent rewards like occult cubes for a slow run, master cubes for a fast run. Just examples. This way, people that prefer to be alone can grind the same way we do now, and people that want to party can do party quests and still level at the same speed. Sorry I went on a rant haha! It's late, and when I'm tired I tend to turn a 2 sentence reply into an essay.

The servers in europe are atrocious. I have very good internet speed but when i press a skill it freezes for one second. I cannot have that during the laser part

annoying as he is now,i think this is an example for a revamp done right every attack pap has makes sense now,he's alot more time oriented in his attacks,effects and gimmicks,rather then being a generic mage-ghost riding a giant clock that has nothing to do with time,it feels like you have to actually learn how to fight him and his gimmicks rather then just hit him until he's done for,the attacks he has may be chaotic,but they're actually fair in a sense that you have indicators that allow you to avoid them (most of the time) and the clock minigames he spawns,they may be quite annoying but they're brilliant at the same time. beforehand none of his attacks had any connection towards him riding a giant clock,heck nothing in this fight had anything to do with either time or space, sure it felt rewarding defeating him back then,but looking back at his concept,he realy did deserve a revamp (especially when you consider what kind of joke he became beforehand) other then that,explaining the minigame where he heals himself is easily the most important part of this video and you've done a great job explaining that

Thank you! I know that's the part that messed me up a lot when I first fought him, so I wanted to try and explain it as best as I could with the minimal editing that I do lol. As for the fight itself. I do like the revamped fight but maaaan is it hard to do solo for most people. In a party it's no problem. But people want the most meso from boss crystals, so they're more likely to try and solo. Course, that's me thinking about the community. If I can beat it on my bishop, the so called "worst" class in the game, then it can definitely be defeated by others. Just need to come up with some strategies like and hope that he doesn't place a clock under you at the wrong moments.

Felt so badass back in the day when I solo'd pap the first time as a Chief Bandit xD

They made him more party oriented. Like in a party he's sooo much easier. As long as people block the lasers. I'd say they made pap more interesting, but certainly harder for solo play.
