Tory MP calls for 'much slower' leadership contest

We asked Tory MP and former minister, Kevin Hollinrake, who the next Conservative party leader will be.
He said he has not made his mind up who to support, but added: "I think we should have a much slower process than we've done in the past. So, we've got some months to pick the right person."

Why aren't journalists pointing out the share of the vote is largely to do with tactical voting!! Many Labour voters voted Lib Dem, SNP, Green etc, wherever it was the way to keep Tories out!!! Its one of the reasons why the Lib Dems did so well too! Also, he shows us Tories haven't learnt that the majority of people do NOT want culture wars yet he seems to think its a priority!!!

The way he’s talking as if they’re still in government. I think that will be the biggest thing a lot of Tories will have to cope with until they understand they were rejected instead of talking down voters and the scale of the Labour victory. Many of these Tories have never seen opposition or being in the political wilderness and that’s a completely different ball game
