You could also view this as Eywa's biggest show of faith in Jake. It's as if she's saying to the Omaticaya, "Do you believe me now?" She's sent signs from the beginning that Jake could be trusted, yet it was this time that they would trust him without question. The only sign that could match this moment is later on during the war when the creatures of Pandora start fighting back alongside the Na'vi. I still get chills every time Neytiri says, "Jake...Eywa has heard you!"

Just wanted to add, Toruk means "last shadow", and in a deleted scene mortally wounded Tsu'tey asks Jake to finish him off, so Toruk Makto would be his last shadow. Meaning, Totuk is pretty much Death in Navi culture

I love how despite the humans of Hells gate attacking the Omatikaya, Mo'at and Neytiri both showed sadness at the mention that Grace is dying.

they never held a grudge against Grace because she only wanted to learn about the Na'vi for the sake of knowledge, she never agreed with what the RDA were doing to Pandora. Mo'at and Neytiri both trusted and liked her, and I imagine that after Sylwanin's death Mo'at gave her necklace to Grace because Sylwanin liked Grace so much, and she knew that Grace loved her students

This is a moment that shows how reverent Turok Makto is. The way the people are responding to Jake, now, it's about how he'd react if we met King Arthur, Muhammad Ali, any given one of the holy saints, artists, scholars, and legends from any moments in time. This makes my heart soar.

I've always thought why Jake's avatar was never picked off and scavenged by critters like the Viperwolves, and then I remembered his Ikran was also in this scene. Guarded his body for days until he woke up again.

The navi were looking extremely lifelike in the latest movie 😀

At 3:21.. when Neytiri said "I see you.", That is the moment where she forgiven Jake and also regretted banshing him from Pandora ever since the Home Tree was destroyed & also realized that Jake wasn't a "traitor" to her or the Na'vi, but Jake was actually a traitor to Miles Quaritch for betraying the human race, including the Sky People after that Jake, Norm & Dr. Grace escaped from his base (With help from Trudy Chácon of course.). & after when he found a leonopteryex, and also making Jake "Toruk Makto", Tsu'tey wanted to fly with Jake & accepted him as a leader and his brother and lead the Na'vi people. & afterwards, Jake Sully earned his trust with them again.. This scene is possibly my favorite along with the ending, because it's much better then the other movies who had protagonists say "I'm sorry." to another. Thank you, James Cameron for bringing Avatar to life. Can't wait for Avatar 3 next year. 💙 Edit: Avatar 3 in 2025? Aw man...

I love how Tsu'tey initially seems scared of Jake when he starts to step up to the dais. When Jake first came to Hometree, chose his Ikran, etc., Tsu'tey was so sure of his superiority and now seeing him fly in on Toruk and remembering that gut punch he knows Jake has surpassed him in every way and he has no choice but to either fear or respect him.

The Savage Tulkun with a missing fin was kind of the Toruk Makto of the second movie.

I just came here to clear up some confusion in the comments. Toruk and Ikran do choose their riders the same way. This is verbally stated when Neytiri is showing Jake the Toruk totem. She says "Toruk chose him" at one point when talking about the past Toruk Makto. I believe she was referring to her grandfather's grandfather if I remember correctly. This is also just shown in the scene where their being chased. If you look closely you'll notice Toruk actively targets Jake despite looking over and seeing Neytiri. There was also a deleted scene where Jake goes through a sort of ayahuasca and has a vision of himself and Toruk together. Anyway I hope that helps, and do tell me if I got anything wrong.

He didn’t become king. Toruk Makto is a legendary warlord for the Na’vi; someone who stands up during bad times and unites all Na’vi to resolve conflict, and then lets go of that role after the great sorrow is over. It doesn’t make him entitled to the role of any kind of supreme leader in times of peace. Jake only became clan leader because Tsu’tey died.

It is already decided! Toruk already given Jake a sign that he choses him, it is when the time Neytiri & Jake being chased by Toruk, he only focuses on Jake he never gives interest of killing Neytiri even thoughr she tried to distract him from chasing Jake.
