Tortugero Village is located in the Tortugero National Park in Costa Rica on the Caribbean Coast. Since the village existed in 1975 when the park was established, the residents have been allowed to stay there. There are around 1500 people living in Tortugero. No new residents are allowed neither are new constructions.
