Just heard news that Ustadji passed away. Devastated, he was one of the best from the subcontinent. Such a big loss for music..

Ustad Mubarik Ali shb is one of the world's most underrated gem of classical music. Such an exquisite display of control and clarity in both vilambit and drut at such an age is remarkable. One must realize the extent of his contributions in form of tutelage to classical legends like Akbar Ali, Javed Bashir etc. is responsible for breathing new life in classical music. Such a fantastic treat.

The man pensively listening by the right of the frame in the zoomed out shots is Ustad Naseeruddin Sami, another genius vocalist, guru to Zeb Bangash and Ali Sethi :) His album "God is Not a Terrorist" is a masterpiece.

The culmination of the last few minutes is just superb. So moving and yet so gentle.

If I am not mistaken Ustad Mubarak Ali Khan took us on a delicate journey from Pahadi to Raag Durga. Just as late Miyan Ustad Shaukat Hussain sahib blended Delhi and Punjab styles in his tabla style effortlessly, I feel Ustad Mubarak Ali Khan has achieved a similar feat in the gayaki gharanas of Shamchaurasi and Ustad Amir Khan's Indore flare. I really admire Ustad Mubarak Ali Khan for his open affection and appreciation for his accompanying junior artists. This is what divine music and artistry is all about. My salutes to him. Jai ho.

When I listen to ustad ji I can find Pt. Jagdish Prasad ji . Both are having massive clarity,power yet so soft and poetic😘😍😍. Sadly we didnt cherished them as they deserve to be

Thank you Dream Journey for introducing me to Mubarak Ali Khan sahib. From his very first video I saw on this channel I was amazed by his effortless singing. This video highlights the "najakat" of Thumri. Very delicately handled!!

His gamaks are smooth as silk and his voice climbs up so effortlessly. I think only with the experience and practice that comes at his age can singing seem as if it isn't being "done" but is "happening".

I have been listening to this masterpiece daily since it was uploaded. Can get enough of it . The Dream Journey is creating treasure of Classical Music .

What a delightful "Pahadi" by the very accomplished " Ustad Mubarak Ali Khan". Mesmerizing experience. His easy virtuosity is completely reflected in his gayaki. The sarangi accompaniment by Zohaib Hasan & the Tabla by Sajjid Ali were equally splendid. Where was this gem hidden ? Bahut mazaa aa gaya sunte sunte ! Beautifully sung. Specially nice & effortless was the migration from Pahadi to Durga. Nevertheless, the original rendering of the thumri by late Bade Ghulam Ali Khan still remains matchless though after all these 70 years or so!

But I have a humble request can you please make a page or a website that gives the lyrics of songs because we also want to know the meaning and lyrics of songs, as most of songs are in Farsi or in Urdu that most of the times I do not understand. They always provide lyrics. There could be some issues otherwise almost every video has lyrics.

He is not brother of Ustad Salamat ALi Khan Sb. He hails from Nalan Jalandhar gharana and he got basic training in classical music from his uncle Ustad Ghanzafar Ali Khan in classical music. He sang only Kafi and qawali initially. But when he listened Ustad Amir Khan Sb's classical performance in movie Baiju Bawra, he started his classical music journey accepting Ustad Amir Khan as his spiritual teacher.
