I feel in love with tori during her "angry" years, back when I was 16. Now turning 36 I have fallen in love again and again with every new album. So happy for her that she has been able to grow and find bits of peace and hope. I think it reflects beautifully in her music. This woman is a true tallent with no rival. Hope she blesses us with another 20 years. Thank the goddess for this wonderful musician.

I think this song is misunderstood as being simple and simply sentimental. It is sentimental to be sure, but it's not as simple as it sounds. The album on which this song appears, 'The Beekeeper,' Tori copes with the death of her brother and near-death of her mother. In 'Ribbons Undone,' she's not only singing about her daughter Tash, but also her mother, Mary Ellen. Mary Ellen's "ribbons" are coming undone--she's imminently leaving her body, while Tash is growing up. It's bittersweet.
