The Waitress and Iieee from this same concert are also worth watching. Or just the whole thing since it's one of her best filmed performances due to asking the audience to reserve applause & noise in general for the end of the song.

Art! A great job, Dani! Loved it! Thanks for this! There is something about a real unique artist that draws you in and mesmerizes you, and this is a great example. Even subtle things like her stage directions to her sound guy (who she ended up marrying, I think) and the fact that she was able to get the most sought after session drummer around, Matt Chamberlain, speaks to how well respected she was as an artist that people wanted to play with.

Yeah she played with Matt Chamberlain for two decades, and the bassist (Jon Evans) is still touring with her to this day. She was already married to her sound engineer at this point - they met on her 1994 tour and got married just before the release of the album she was promoting when she did this show in 1998. They have their own professional studio in Cornwall, England.

when you said "there are times that you're like...how?....ugh" same, girl. I've been listening to her since 1998 and I often still find myself feeling the same way.

I love your reactions so much. You strike such an enjoyable balance between immersion in the experience and descriptive engagement with the audience. Tori Amos' music, in particular, played a hugely supportive and inspiring role in my life during a delicate developmental phase for me. And being able to reconnect with the magic and vitality of that experience through the spirit of discovery and mutual appreciation through your videos means so much. Thank you for sharing your gifts. There are several live performance videos of hers here on KZread from around this era- which was a peak, I think- like her Welcome To Sunny Florida concert video, and VH1 Storytellers, and MTVs Unplugged. I'm also hoping you might react to her song, 'Sugar' at some point, which there are a couple of excellent live versions for on KZread. Its a particularly gorgeous song. Best wishes. I look forward to watching your future reactions.

Sweet reaction Dani...My first Tori Amos concert was in Seattle (1992). Tori and Sarah McLaughlin are my favorites from that period. “Precious Things” (kzread.info/dash/bejne/daaj3JOYhbbYY7g.html) from her Little Earthquakes album, without so much guitar, shows me much more of Tori's voice and piano genius. IMHO “Me and a Gun” (kzread.info/dash/bejne/qYusvLlrqs2dgLQ.html), from a life molding experience of Tori's, is quintisentially Tori.

I've always put her in the same category of someone like Kate Bush. Very Art Pop and Progressive Pop. Not my cup of tea but I've always thought she was very talented. Especially writing her own material. She's certainly unique in her sound.
