+Brian Gerstel Real last verse? There are so many versions of this song that L Cohen wrote, he himself didn't sing the same lyrics one concert to the next

well hes got us.. sure the Atheist sung the "real" version you're referring to... do we literally have to make everything a Left/right stance and cant we just go with a spiritual "gets ya in the feels' thing, have we reached that point were we cant just enjoy a clean/good thing without having to slam it some box?

Monkof Shadows Wasn’t a left/right thing - didn’t mean to make it sound like I was a religious wackadoo. But 90% of all the covers of this song end on the “cold and broken Hallelujahs”... That last verse provides that little hint that, as heartbreaking as the relationship was, as screwed up as love always is, it was worth it.
