I LOVE this album. I love that she let the guitar led on several songs which is a rare thing on most of her tracks. The soundscape of this album is out of this world. Best guitar on the album. Also, BANG is just genius. Might be my all time favorite album, which I know a lot of people won’t agree. I just never could get thru something like Little Earthquakes without skipping a few songs. I don’t have to on Native Invader. I am a later-early fan circa 1996, and seen her countless times. I wish I could have during this tour but it weirdly had no Ohio stops. 🤷‍♀ Tori is a goddess.

Thank you Tori... And from my heart I am sorry to learn of your Mums health, I met both of your parents at the Sunrise Theatre on your birthday at a meet & greet in Ft. Lauderdale. Florida & over the years anytime I have seen them at a show of yours when they were visible I'd say hello & wish them well. I will keep your Mum in my thoughts & send light with love into the universe for her. And on a much brighter note You've been missed ❤ & what a great song & I've just ordered the album.

The chorus makes the hair stand up on the back of my back like no other song has ever done in a LONG WHILE. Beautiful, 100% Tori, soft but strong... And the duet guitar + organ is THRILLING, haunting. I see this song as a perfect mix between CHOIRGIRL + SCARLET + Y KANT... Is SHE arriving to a WHOLE new state with a LARGE evolution on her back. Like picking the best points her career taught her. mixing 'em in a complete new sonic adventure. An adventure that im SO looking forward to explore.

Tori will ALWAYS be amazing.

This song is so beautiful. I love when she sings "Underneath the stars above.. I said, "No. stop." i am not giving up on us.."

I love the meandering quality of this song. Makes me want to kick back on the porch of a southern home, under a blanket with my sweetheart, and a glass of sweet tea.

i agree i'm trying to like this....but i don't.... i can hear in my head how this could have been done with some bite and really stand out... all this muted sound and vocals are just blah....perhaps in the context of an entire album, maybe it will.....

will bradley This was the same issue I had with Unrepentant Geraldines. Trouble didnt sell me on the album. I was more into the very mature, complex classical sounds of Gold Dust and Night of Hunters. And I was still struggling with that sound because Abnormally Attracted to Sin had so many incredible songs on it, and I liked that Tori did a record without some huge metaphorical concept. Cloud Riders isnt selling me on Native Invader. And Up The Creek certainly reminds me of tracks like Bad Man and Giants Rolling Pin. But as with any Tori album since Beekeeper (except American Doll Posse), the album tracks will sell the album. For UG, it was Wild Way, Weatherman, Oysters... I would be absolutely at a loss of words if Tori doesn't have at least one critically notable song on Native Invader. Even when she's been discounted, she's had a few songs up her sleeve that silenced the critics. If anything, I just want Tori to stop announcing her albums months and months ahead of release. I feel like interest peaks at the official announcement, and dies down significantly within a few weeks. She should just wait to spoil the album until a few weeks before release. Then we won't have to sit around for four months twiddling our thumbs until it actually drops.

Leonard Kowalski I'd prefer Tori not return to Scarlet. SW has its place in her discography, and I really wouldn't want her to dilute its value by putting out another similar sounding album. I know a lot of people who've fallen off Tori want her to repeat the past, but I'd much rather hear what she's doing now. My only gripe with any of it is a noticeable dip in the production quality on newer songs. I want to hear more going on in the production, and more layered, silky vocals... things that are trademarks of Tori's entire career. They're just not here anywhere near like they were on Beekeeper or American Doll Posse. I will concede to one thing from Tori's past I want her to do again: songs like Cloud On My Tongue, Baker Baker, Northern Lad, Putting The Damage On, and her cover of Case of You. I would kill to hear Tori sing a new song with the same depth and atmosphere as any of these ballads. I still listen to Baker Baker and realize how fucking on point Tori was with every single line and metaphor and the way she sung the song from beginning to end, how all of that perfectly conveyed that half wishful, half regretful looking back on lost love. I'd like less politics, more deep self reflection on the experiences we can't explain intellectually.

I could listen to this intro/outro guitar sound in a 10 hour looped version.

this album has grown in me so so much and this song is just magic.

What? Poor production going nowhere? You may not like the song but please listen to this work again. Each sound (voices, guitars, keyboards, effects, mix) perfectly serves the purpose, which is PRECISELY to go somewhere and take us there: the story told by words and the artist's imaginary surrounding. It is indeed pop music that goes somewhere. Rather rare

This sounds pretty good, I understand wanting the 90s Tori back but you have to keep an open mind and be willing to accept change or you will always be disappointed. I didn't like the Beekeeper at first but I learned to appreciate it for what it is.

Love the verses specifically and the song reminds me of nothing like she did before. Perhaps combines a little of Scarlett and a little of AATS because of the instruments but hey chuffed to see a new Tori tack! Let's be happy not 'angry' seriously can't wait for the gig!! X

She creates a space that has the ability to adapt to the listener. She creates a mirror for the listener to reflect upon. Her music is like a magic spell. Imagine you are by the fire with the shaman. She pours a smoke over you and the smoke surrounds you clouding your vision. Then you begin to see images emerge from the smoke. These images are yours. They are different for everyone but often have the same effects. These images and stories touch your emotions in an authentic and personal way. They hold great personal meaning to you. She has her own visions and sings them to you. You can't see each other's exact visions but you feel that you're both experiencing something deeply personal yet shared. The paths you walk are different but lead to the same place.

Tori Amos does The Beatles? I am not complaining. In fact, I am reveling. This song is mild pop, with the usual Tori twist. Back in the day, I wished Tori would get more accessible, this is very accessible. Now I miss the super-angst, super-challengingTori. But mostly I am pissed that Tori skipped my city for her new tour.
