Hands crossed are because this song requieres major skills in the low register, so the right hand goes to the low tones in the piano and the left one plays the chords in the upper register

I thought it was because the right hand was used to playing the higher notes on the second piano, but that makes sense.

That voice is still so incredible after all those other amazing songs she's sang, she still writes and performs them to perfection! I just love this woman forever!!

God, this is amazing. Even better than the album cut, in my opinion. I wonder why she plays it with her arms crossed over one another? Pretty impressive, in any case.

@heinzie5 Oftentimes a composer will have hands crossing over, but she seems to be playing that way because she's adjusted a two-keyboard piece to one keyboard. In other words, she wrote for the right hand to be on the other keyboard, and it's easier to have it play the notes it's used to playing than flip the hands around. :)

having an awesome time learning this song.. i only have one piano so am trying to master the arm crossing thing. bloody hard work.. it'd be better if i refined my technique before learning this. (being self taught, i have virtually none)

Ha, well, I think I understand your explanation. Thank you! I was wondering after watching a second time if it also has something to do with the fact that it was originally composed with her using her right hand on the piano/keyboard behind her and the left hand on the main piano.

I wished the song was like this on the album. I might have gotten spoiled by this version when she was playing it without a band on the radio shows across Europe but it would have been better than the album version...

I love seeing her play two pianos at the same time, so I'm a little desapointed with this video... I prefer the album version, but this one is beautiful too. Tori would be awesome even if she played Britney Spears. =)

I am almost ashamed to ask, but I've been wondering for a while now about the ring on her finger, on the right hand. She has it like for years now, whenever she appears. So, does anyone know the meaning of it, or who she got it from? PS: Like ADP. Better than the last two albums I think. Beauty of Speed is one of my favorites along with Smokey Joe, Father's Son, Digital Ghost. Seen her in concert in Bucharest. What a trip that was:)Thanks for sharing the studio version too.

*what color is the sky in your world? American doll posse is largely religious, the song is about emerging into a rapidly changing world. Step outside and look up, the sky has been changing colors for years, as we travel through revelation - now listen to Smokey Joe and you will come out of your black and white world.*

@proximity1111 And what is it about? I'm one of those dumb people, sorry to shock you again. Since you said there's a direct message, I was reading at the lyrics, and for me this song talks about how she's been able to overcome all the differences she's had with her husband, because despite it all, there's always the love that they have for each other which is bigger...something like that? no? correct me if I'm wrong, haha ;)
