I've had a defender merc since finale was introduced. It has interrupts and buffs I can configure to the boss I'm fighting and it never gets tired. Tank mercs without interrupts are hard to find. I wear -aggro gear to use it and it is legit the most valuable character I have and I don't even play it directly.
