Thanks for the update and the education of the effects of the beach nourishment project. I'm from Colorado and will be headed that way in July for about a week and I'm looking forward to some surf fishing. We will be there during a period of a full moon so we may expect to see higher and lower water events during that time. From your experience, how will this affect the surf fishing......good or bad???

Let's just say it doesn't improve fishing.

I'm extremely new to surf fishing. We visit topsail several times a year. We usually visit in June, Aug, and Nov. Is it even worth me bringing my rods this year? I know nothing about how long this will usually show fishing down.

You mentioned the long rusted pipe, what is it from?

That pipe is used to pump the sand from the channel out to the beach.

@@DueSouthFishing thank you for the reply! I went to topsail beach last month for the first time and also went to emerald isle. NC has beautiful beaches. I've been researching the area since I got back from there. I don't fish but I'm interested in environmental issues surrounding these areas if you know what I mean. Have a lovely day!🌅

always turns it into a big ole flat.. i cant stand it when they dredge it. seems like the sandfleas drop off pretty quick. but it completely changes the ecosystem nearshore. makes fishing pretty bad. but it does save the homes on the beachfront. theyre dredging ft macons inlet for the barges. but we will never win against mother nature

That's one of the main things for me is the sand flea populations take so long to recover.
