My gopro battery died right before I took the top but Evan got a shot of it from the ground. I left the camera on too long. Maybe next time I should bring extra batteries up with me lol. Model number for the dewalt saw is DCCS674X2

If you clip a throw ball to your climb line you can throw it up above you on either spar as your advancing. It will help you with work positioning. You’ve got to work with two hands to be efficient. Anyways I’m glad to see more people getting into the industry. Good job

I'd come up with a different method for setting/unsetting that brake. My guess is that parts like that wont be a quick acquisition like it would be from stihl or husky. Good work, keep at it. Youre the only one making videos on that saw so be sure to milk it while you can before everyone else catches on.

Yeah wacking the brake on the tree probably isn't the best way 🤣

Dude leave nothing stock you’re on to something because I searched the saw and this was the one actual video of it in use by some one working putting it to use so it definitely could get you some subs and views if you play it right

Did you test the dewalt oil to see if the top handle 60v saw will flow better to the bar. Thanks

If you check my latest vid right at the beginning I go over the oiling on the 60v. It's much better now that I made a little tweak to it. I'm still using husqvarna chainsaw oil, once that's all gone I'm gonna try some others.

I switched to Cenex bar and chain oil simply because it's dyed. I was using the Husqvarna and then wasn't able to see the bar wasn't being oiled on one of my saws until it started to burn. Red dyed oil makes it easy to see.

Your friction saver can be much more loose and still be bomber. That notch rope grab is not meant to be single line loaded. Its meant to be used in a moving rope setup. Such as flip line or lanyard. Trust me, i know from experience that itll slip when loaded in that configuration. Get chu a rope runner pro and get familiar with it. Best on the market. Ive tried all the others. All of them

Curious. How is using the rope grab like this any different than using it for a regular lanyard? It's in the same orientation as it would be using it on a regular lanyard is it not? Genuinely asking. I haven't had it slip on me at all using it like this but as you said you definitely have more experience than I do with it. (Given the fact that I don't have much experience) let me know.

I'm sorry. I thought your setup looked like your safety line was girth hitched to your friction saver and single line loading your rope grab. You do actually have it in the right setup. My bad

i bought the 20v dewalt top handle saw after waiting years because i thought it was not very ergonomic and did not like the balance everytime i picked one up at the stores... then a week later.. i see your video showing this new generation saw with the design improvements... come on.

This saw isn't a competitor to the 20v saw at all. It costs $500 or $700 with batteries while the 20v costs $175 with a battery. Totally different animals. The 20v isn't really a top handle more of a compact regular handle saw. So you didn't make a bad choice, it's just not a climbing saw by any means. Chain speed is so low on the 20v that it could be dangerous.

@@Bearbait01 ya. its so slow. its painful. and a half second delay when you pull the trigger. im a dewalt guy but im very close to picking up the milwaukee top handle if i see it go for cheap either used or new. it seems like it cant be beat. all the top dogs just get a boner over it non stop.

Not sure which is better honestly but if you're debating Dewalt vs Milwaulkee, you might as well just get the Husqvarna.

Dewalt 20v Oregon chain is a must. Use mine for everything but stem wood. Then grab real saw. So light. Does NOT kick, tho gotta let it eat don’t force. Love mine

Also you you won’t fall if you cut your rope. If you fall with just your flip line it will catch you. Check out guilty of treeson video on flip lining

I actually tried to recreate his video for myself (didn't film it) but I tried to fall out of the tree with just a flip line on. 2 out of 3 times it caught me and the last time I fell 5 feet straight to the ground. Didn't feel good. Not doing that again.

How was your heart rate after you cut that top? nothing like the first top. it's a high unlike anything else.

Not sure lol. All I know is that after it went over I was very relieved 🤣. I really wish my camera didn't die cuz that would have been great footage. My hinge was a little thick but my face cut was on the money.
