I wish they still made cartoons like this. I needed to figure out how to solve the Three utilities problem and I needed to learn how to use Jordan's Curve Theorem, this explained it the best.

I feel like this is a simple yet affective way to explain topology. A simple shape can be distorted so much that one can no longer tell it is a shape anymore. The simple theorem makes sense, but doesn't exactly strike me as definite.

This video is an introduction to topology, or the study of shapes and topological spaces. It introduces curves and the properties of morphing curves. I learned that a person is able to tell if a point lies on a shape or not by connecting a point within the shape's general space to a point outside of it. Counting out how many times the line has crossed lines within the shape, one is able to tell if the point lies inside the shape or not. If the line crosses the shape an even number of times, the point is not in the shape, and vice versa.

why isn't modern education like this? where did we go wrong from this to the hell we have today, its so funny that I was looking at this exact theorem in my slides for uni and thought it was so hard but this video not only makes it simple but so nice to learn, it grows the interest one would have in learning these subjects.
