I really wish you had demonstrated the testing features. Most interesting would be to see how accurately it rates a brand new battery's remaining capacity. Also, the fact that it merely CHARGES a battery or fails "...a piece of junk that's been on the shelf for years" does NOT impress me. Hook up a sulfated battery from an RV and see if it repairs it; then I'll be impressed. All these testers make similar claims, but already I'm worried that this one's volt reading doesn't even match your DMM.

Interesting, Amazon doesn't show a 6k. There's an 8k but sadly doesn't appear to come with the round leads

My go-to tool is a Load Tester. I was turned away from a warranty by Sears. They said the battery checked out OK. I ask them to do a load test. They said no need the battery is ok. I went to another mechanic and asked for a load test. They did it and the battery failed. They were able to print a report which I took back to Sears and received a warranty replacement.

Topdon tp8000 does not need an app. I got the 2amp duracell one you review. Looking for a faster one tp8000 if you can review that one.

Do you mean to say #madscientist? I would like you to try an experiment. Next time you are in the shop, Monday, plug in the charger and see if it can desulfate the battery. And get it back to a no error state. So if a poor student or someone you want to help, you can sell them the cheap battery you fixed for a few months until they can save up to buy a new one from you! Monday so you can monitor it every day so it won't catch on fire if it's too hot, and it doesn't cost you anything!! Hopefully it works and you don't need to change the battery acid inside. The old days for people who don't know. Did not come pre-filled and the service station would fill it up when you bought it and it was the best way for the battery life..
