    @@deshawnthompson5592 yeah, I’ve seen people do this. I was planning on doing the same thing. Even if it doesn’t work out, you can just cut it off.

    you can use any rootstock but most people use seedling from Turpentine Mango

    That’s just our native soil, sometimes called “sugar sand”

    Yes we ship them and yes, any mango should be graft compatible with the Carrie

    What would happen if I grafted a pumpkin pie mamey scion onto a seedling from a mamey I got at a local market. I wonder if it would still be dwarf or if the root stock would be too vigorous

    In the Florida nursery trade there isn’t much of a preference given to cultivars when it comes to rootstock, so we would speculate that it would still grow the same rate if you grafted it to a random seed from a store bought mamey

    You can , but much of the time the existing canopy is going to outgrow that single graft if it isn’t cut back.

    @@deshawnthompson5592the only thing you can do is put more grafts on in the hope that the original tree doesn’t outgrow them all, but you should at least prune some of its canopy back to give the new grafts a better chance

    From what I remember oil base paints can kill the tree. You wouldn’t really use oil base paints anymore. I do at work with steel all the time, but it would kill trees from what I remember seeing.

    Always appreciate the content Paul! But please dont paint your trees yall 😂 I’m pretty sure most of us grow our own food at our house to stay away from all the pesticides and bad things that they do to the produce at the stores. If you’re painting the tree with latex paint full of a shit load of synthetic stuff it’s probably worse than the fruit from the store…. Just my idea on it. You guys can take it however you want.
