"Rebel Moon" is one of the few exeptions that they try to start a new cool franchise, no book adaptation or reboot nonsense, a fresh brave start. I like that very much and I really appreciate this. It is brave and it can fail but it is worth a try. Kudos.

@@JonathanElliotMay I was seeing more than Star Wars in it, though it was obviously the basis. Perhaps they reworked it to include homages to other myth based franchises. We see the blue and red sabers, even the scene with the window looks like the Death Star throne room, but I saw like John Carter elements, Stargate elements (the eye of Ra), and Lord of the RIngs elements. Anthony Hopkins in the trailer makes mention of myths...so it looks to me like a massive mashup of a ton of stuff now.

I like how the godzilla minus one movie is the old design of godzilla from the 50s it looks cool.

Don't blame the writers: They don't choose what movies get made, the studios do, and to a lesser extent, we do. The studios make more and more of what we pay for until we stop paying for it and then they milk the next trend until it's dry. We are creatures of routine and habit- franchises and the familiar are comfortable and do well, even when they aren't good. If it didn't make money, studios wouldn't do it. If you want only the novel, independent studios still exist. The writer's strike affects ALL media, from corporate cinema to indie films, streaming services (that are creating more of their own original content), and if you understood why they were on strike, you wouldn't be against it: Studios want to eliminate writers almost entirely. Why pay anyone to create when you can use algorithms to generate content? You want MORE sequels and regurgitating? That's how you get it: Let AI create your films based on the stuff you've already paid for. You want more new ideas, things you have not seen before? Support writers.

The Beekeeper looks a little bit like Frank Herbert's Bureau of Sabotage. The idea that there is an official bureau outside of the government whose sole purpose is to re-balance the system when things go too far in any direction be that benevolence or corruption. They have complete carte-blanche to do whatever is necessary to perform that correction.

Yes. There's going to be a theatrical release that's going to be the core story, and less adult, and a series that's more adult and far more content. Almost like the LotR extended edition, but a series instead.
