I am one of 6,000 men who have federal felony conviction records for refusing to kill Chinese and Vietnamese people during the Vietnam Conflict. (The Presidential Pardons did not remove the records but did restore rights such as voting and carrying a gun.) @@htraindogs Good for you, too! :) BTW, if he was convicted, he may not be aware that even with the pardon, he still has a federal felony record. Even Newsweek got that wrong. I had an Atlanta reporter ask Charles Kirbo, the attorney who drew up the Carter blanket pardon, about this, and his response was that it was just the tough luck of those of us who put our faith in the courts: it takes an act of Congress to expunge federal records. Those who skipped country to Canada and were never convicted have no federal records.

I'm so proud of our students! Maybe us elders should organize a national day of applause for them.

Hamas would have to give up being in charge of Palestine and the Palestinians first as they are the ones beholden to Iran and the terrorism. They can't have terrorists running their country. Israel needs to stop going into Palestine and tearing down their houses, as they've been doing for years. That's what provoked Hamas to do what they did. A 2 state solution is the only way to go. Currently, Israel needs to stop bombing and Hamas needs to stop terrorizing and a 2 state solution needs to be crafted. Ultimately though, Netanyahu needs to go back to prison and Hamas has to stop ruling over Palestinians. And all nations need to help rebuild Palestine for the Palestinians. Just like we'll all have to help Ukraine rebuild once Putin is gone. We'll have to all help the Haitans once their situation is resolved and the gangs are gone. Sudan needs help too. Syria needs help too. We have to make sure that no dictators are in charge of any country ever again or we're just spinning our wheels and the end will come sooner than we think.

I’m glad some of the youth of America are protesting the Palestinian loss of life. Compassion is a good thing. I think their parents taught them well!

Because Netanyahu is a dictator who only sees power and money as his end game, like all other dictators. The Israelis are not Netanyahu, just like the Palestinians are not Hamas. Until Netanyahu is back in prison, where he belongs and Hamas is not in charge of the Palestinians, this will continue. The Israelis were not the ones tearing down the Palestinian homes on Gaza and the West Bank for years - Netanyahu is. That's what provoked Hamas to do what they did. Hamas are ruled by Iranian terrorists, so Hamas needs to stop being in charge of Palestine. Until then, this all will continue. It's been going on for hundreds of years needs to stop. When they start the draft again to send American boys to be maimed and killed in their never ending wars - then I will go to protest in the streets. As a veteran and member of patriotic groups - the selective service folks (who are still a functioning government dept. without much to do ) came and asked us to make presentations at local high schools and remind male students they must register for the draft or face prosecution. Hmm, they sent the Nazis to prison (after someone else caught them). But I agree with you, and Israel just snubbed it's nose at the very court that tried those who caused the holocaust. Israel and those who send arms have many questions to answer (but their participation will not come). This war and the murder of civilians must stop. The whole idea of a country of just Jewish citizens is ridiculous and not achievable in the world. And why would they even want that?
