Please don't make the same mistake as me and book a trip to Siargao in January. We're getting hit with a lot of heavy rain, thunderstorms, flooding, etc. All the heavy rain causes very poor internet/wifi signal throughout the whole island. Not much to do. All the locals here tell me it's like this during the months of Jan/Feb. I just canceled my stay here and will try booking another destination. Thanks for the video man! 👍
I stayed at Kermit surf resort in the past. They have excellent surf instructors, good accommodation and PIZZA! I hope Siargao will recover quickly, many people rely on tourism.
Best video on surfing in the Philippines! I wish I'd seen this before I went. Just came back from Siargao and Baler...both of which were awesome. Great vid mate, cheers!
Nice job on the Video. I live in San Juan.. and have a ton of videos on the whole area for surfing, hotels and places to eat. Plus some really great surf footage of The point, Carrille and some other not well known breaks in the area! ;-) Mahalo! Mark
Nice video man! Thanks for the infos, very useful!! 🙏🏼🤙🏼
Great content! I can’t wait to come back to visit the Philippines. I last visited in early 2020.
Cool! I've lived in the Philippines before but didn't know much about its surfing. Will have to check it out when I go back. Great vid and like the new background haha.
Great review, thank you!
Surfing is booming on the islands, La Union and C9 regular comps on the WSL tour. Lot of talent rising through the ranks now.
Surfing start in bagasbas beach daet camarines norte bikol. And i think catanduanes have a good spot like cloud 9 ad that is located in bikol also.
Excellent video! Thank you Brother!
Congrats for your vlogs...as if we have been to those exciting surf places in the Philippines. Stay safe & God bless 👏👏👏!!!
mahalo Savvy! thanks for giving San Juan a spot in the vid! thats where my family is from, La Union, and i've surfed San Juan, love it there, awesome to see all the touristy stuff pop up there *shaka*

Both San Juan & Baler are more easily accessed via Clark, which has direct flights from Hong Kong, Korea, Japan & China. This cuts 2-3 hours off the commute compared to Manila. For Siargao, best to fly into Cebu, then take a ferry.
Tuli, This is a great video. Surfing is becoming very popular in The Philippines..Great exercise. Thanks for sharing and that for such a great You Tube channel. Stay safe!
Very cool bud !!!!
nice work my friend
LaPaz Beach in San Narciso, Luzon is also noted for its surfing. It's about 90 minutes north of Olongapo. There are many smaller resorts but the best by far is Crystal Beach. Folk come from all over the world to stay there and surf. You'll be driving right by our home to get to the beach, so wave "Hi" when you pass. 😁

Nice! I’ve been going to San Juan every time I visit. It’s not too far from Makati.
Tuli, l do not surf but l did enjoy the video. Great channel. Thank you for sharing your travels. Stay safe.
Don't forget Camarines and Sorsogon in Bicol! :)
I enjoy your vlogs.. Stay safe & God bless!!!

I'm going to visit from Alaska used to live Hawaii and ripped really thank you for this information about surfing 🎉
Although I love the beaches, I’ve never tried surfing before. You had me laughing when you said the shallow breakers claim lots of surfboards and chunks of flesh! Lol 😂. I do plan to snorkel and hopefully can get scuba 🤿 certified. Excellent job Evan 👍🏾🇵🇭✌🏾

My Dad has surfed there before and he can concur with the chunks of flesh statement😂 Thanks for watching Mark
Siargao for those who haven’t been does have brown outs during the day. But the nicest clear water. Aurora is nice with a big boardwalk, water not so nice. My wife has property there. San Juan can’t really say, it was raining for the 3 days I was there. My pick would be Siargao for the beauty but get a nice hotel with a generator. Hopes this helps.
Great video .... nothing wrong with being a beach bumb .... but I don't serf ... can you do one about scuba diving
thanks man interesting that the surf scenes in Apocalypse Now werent shit in Vietnam.. i didnt know that
Excellent....well researched........when I come to the Phillipines ....I wanna surf not pub crawl
try to surf DIANAO BEACH, in Northern Aurora, 100km north of baler. white sand beach and totally unknown, great surf, great surrounding
hello, great video, can you recommend a city where you can surf and live comfortably for a long time working remotely?)
You may start a travel vlog in Siargao. ☺️
Just an update. Went to Baler last month and I was charged PHP500 for the surf lesson (instructor and board), and he said it's PHP400 for renting a board for an hour.
Hey Evan, I will be in the Philippines in January/ February. I also planned to do some surfing in Siargao but currently I am not sure if there's good surfing there in February. What do you think? Thanks 🤙🏻
Any good spots for hireboard? I wanna track down a fish or twin fin when im there
Please note traffic in Manila is HORRIBLE, so the 5h drive may well take 8h. I’ve never seen worse traffic than in Manila.

11 hours. I had given myself 6. If my plane had not been delayed by an hour I would still be there now. Was intense, I'm glad I did it but never again .. 😂😂
So many surf spots in Davao too.
So which one has good waves with a sandbar...?
You missed Tuasson Point :)
44 years of surfing all over the World and some of the biggest assholes i ever encountered were in San Juan, tons of great waves all over the Phils and not as crowded if you have the time and savvy to look.
Any waves Dec to May?

Thanks for watching guys 🙏
Thank you for not mentioning the best and longest wave in La Union, it has rides of over 400 meters is already overcrowded with longboards when its below head high. Double overhead is a shortboarders dream wave. #thanksjesus
Uh...Savvy...you're wrong about Apocalypse Now bringing surfing to Baler. They came later. Just saying...ya know?
Just a correction: Cemento's is a reef and you will never find a sign that says Cemento Beach. There is a nice reef break south of Cemento's ... but you have to pay to play. Good video Pare, surf in La Union every year for 2 months a wack.
Water looks murky
I’ve visited all these spots. No surf Bad luck ? Plus those prices are really steep. “Only $60 for a room “ bathroom with a bucket?

Yup. Expensive and bad surf. Foreigners wouldn't be impressed.
Monalisa I have met she's the daughter of the guy who named the break.surf very average la union(karille good fun) baler better waves up north, cementos is just ok,

Can we see you on a surf board?
But have you actually surfed in those locations?
Accommodation allot more expensive then Thailand Indonesia vietnam.what they charge in pi for 2000 you can get for 500 in B4 mentioned places, good vlog no fake yank accent, good info very rare vlogger not ego wanking.cheers
"lets hope you dont get pitted"??? lol do you even surf? Getting pitted is goooood
No need name places the crowding happens on it's own then everyone goes looking for uncrowded waves those that win keep their mouths shut
There are tons of better places than the last two...explore and yee shall be rewarded.google maps is your friend.😁
Who wants to see Evan on a surf board in his speedo's? i do 😁
Looks gross !
The ocean is for fish some of whom eat people. The beach is for people to catch fish to eat or walk.

Don't be scared. It only takes one wave. Then you're hooked for life.
