Bill Cosby's Sleepers You´re wrong. She really was thinking about it, on this board and the betting their did, there arent many handy you reraise at the river. This are professional player and both represent no bluff. Ofc a normal player on normal stakes would have insta called the bets, but for her the only options were, that she has 7/A or the quads, maybe 5/5 but shes right you probably just call the river if you opponent has a really good hand. In the end she couldnt foult, because there were the option of 7/A, but you cant call her a asshole, she already knew it before she called, good talent.

@@shakesfirst2443 I agree, this comment section is awful to read. I get why Selbst didn't instacall here too, Baumann is never bluffing in this spot as Selbst's overbet is extremely polarizing to strong boats or nothing, so for Baumann to shove over the top is....yeah. I do wonder though if Selbst would have folded had she had the two red aces. If she thinks A7 suited could be a thing but not A7 off, then with the two black sevens on the board and the two red aces in her hand there's no combinations of A7 suited Baumann could have. If Selbst only called because Baumann could have A7 hearts and 77, then it would stand to reason she would fold red aces here. With that said I certainly snap call either way but wouldn't be surprised when I'm beat.

They make most of their money on deposits... Every time you busto, they make a killing off those deposits, way more than that rake. Also, as long as they keep making everyone go busto from these fake bad beats, the less likely anyone will be doing any money transfers back to their banks. I tried taking money out of my account when I was up a few 100 dollars and of course they make it such an inconvenience that you don't even wanna do it. I think they said I needed like over 6k or something ridiculous to do an instant withdrawal. Anything less would take nearly a month or something. Seems to me like they wanna keep your money on the site as long as possible and they will do anything to ensure it stays there. Most like making a killing off investing people's money in god knows what, or just simply earning interest off of it.

Selbst is holding the ace of diamonds and the black sevens are on the board, so Baumann can’t be playing them either. She’s assuming Baumann wouldn’t be playing an unsuited A7 hand. So, if Selbst had the ace of hearts she could narrow Baumann down precisely to quads. Because Selbst doesn’t have the ace of hearts, Baumann could be playing A7 of hearts and have a smaller full house, so Selbst has to call. In other words, Selbst narrowed Baumann down to quads or an AA777 full house, but AA777 only makes sense if Baumann is playing Ah7h. Selbst has no Ah, so Baumann could have Ah7h, and so Selbst calls.

She can push with A7 of hearts and 77's that is the range after that overbet river.. so its not "almost folded" she really wanted to for real.

I played with Selbst live once, before she was somewhat well known in the poker community. She was rude, acidic, and kept calling me "Tough Guy" because I raised her ONCE, and I did it SILENTLY, without saying a SINGLE WORD. Hence, I can't stand her. However, gotta give her props here, most people just snap-call in that situation, but she seemed to know she was beat.

She is a great player, but the fact she is thinking about folding is not amazing.... I don't even play high price mtt's anymore.. I don't need the stress anymore now that I have made enough... playing in $55 and $100 mtt's all the time all the time.. was quite the time in my life..

I wish she would have folded for these reasons: 1. Baumann has A7hh or 77 so she will bust 50% of the time. Not great to start flipping for tournament life in the main this early. 2.she would have 130 bigs after folding. Could cruise easily back to starting stack. There's still a lot of time even on day 2. 3. it would be such a boss move and she would get so much respect as a player.

I think several comments touched on this, but my stance is that the problem isn't about whether Selbst should have folded second nuts on the river but rather what he did preflop (maybe on the flop too). His bets with AA preflop made room for a potential tough decision about whether A7hh could last till the river. But even with it, I'd say that A7s isn't that likely early on in the main event preflop as it's a really bad Ace-X suited hand. And in response to those who say folding second nuts is losing money, that's only if the player with the nuts can read the opponent as having the second or third nuts. The counter is that this situation doesn't happen all that often so it doesn't hurt to try to make a decision based on a read (I think Baumann showed a live read of sorts, but I am not one to be talking). If a player kept doing this on the river, it becomes even less likely the opponent has an actual hand, suddenly turning the original AA fold into a profitable call in the future.

After they show the fourth 7 on the turn making it a quad for Baumann. Why does it say still 2% chance to win for Vanessa? The only way she could win is if they pulled out another ACE on the river for the higher value quad, correct? But they showed that Rosen had an ACE in her hand and she folded. So there are no more aces to deal. So shouldn't it be 0%? Or is there a hand I'm not seeing.

I'm gonna be *that guy* and say while it is pretty much impossible to reasonably fold here without a live tell what she showed was just doing due diligence and confirming her situation and opponent's range. She does this all the time and if you plan on doing anything meaningful in poker you should do the same. Especially in tournament spots where your remaining stack is on the line. It was less 'considering folding' and more confirming the situation that dictates she should be calling anyway. She just walked through the thought process that indicates that you obviously call vs. 'Herp derp I have strong hand have to call' that most would do to rationalize it. She is a great poker player, but she's not doing some next level stuff. If you knew nothing about the hand but was described as her holding 2nd nuts facing all-in vs someone who's range is nuts and 3rd nuts giving her 50/50 equity we probably wouldn't be slobbering over this hand. This hand's 'OMG' appeal is the raw strength of the hands, not her decision making.

For those who understand this spot, the river is anything but a snap call when villain moves in. Vanessa knows this particular villain is not even capable of bluffing in this spot so her range becomes one combo of quads and one combo of ace seven suited. That's it. No other hand can move in on the river.

People praising Vanessa up and down ITT don't realize how deep they are playing one hour into the main event. They have 300 BB's at the start of the hand. That's why A7hh and 77 are literally the only two hands Bauman can possibly get her entire stack in with here once the river hits. She's never bluffing off with a missed draw. And she looks totally composed as well. That's why it's a crying call by Vanessa.
