0:00 Intro.
0:58 You are at Progress Road and Roberts Road on 26 May 2021 as Norfolk Southern train #309 passes with a Top Secret Missile Cargo on a special flatcar right behind the engines passes.
4:03 You are at the CSX Mile Post 41 curve on 27 May 2021 looking west as CSX train #158 starts into the Mile Post 41 curve. After the train passes you, you follow it as it continues east on the elevated tracks past CSX Control Point 39 which is located at CSX Mile Post 40.1 and also past the now abandoned New York Central Railroad control tower which used to control train traffic through Dunkirk until it was closed in the 1960s.
6:47 You are in the parking lot on the southeast corner of Park Avenue and East Third Street as CSX train #Q635, a mixed freight, with loaded garbage hopper cars in the front half of the train. There was no sign of garbage hopper care CSEX 16387, the Wide World of Trains graffiti painted car on this train. After the mid-train DPU there were a few more garbage hopper cars with the rest of the train various types of freight cars.
9:17 It is 26 May 2021 and you are at the CSX Mile Post 41 curve as CSX train #Q204 peeks around the Mile Post 41 curve from the west. CSX train #204 is a daily train from Osborne Yard in Louisville, Kentucky to East Brookfield, Massachusetts with auto rack cars that are loaded with Ford Motor Company vehicles that are built in the two Ford Assembly Plants in Louisville, Kentucky.
10:16 It is 27 May 2021 and you are at West Third Street and Washington Avenue as CSX train #Q009 passes on the elevated tracks. This train had a mid-train DPU.
13:17 You are at the CSX Middle Road crossing on the east side of Dunkirk, New York on 24 May 2021 as CSX train #Q158 approaches around the curve from the east end of the elevated tracks through the Dunkirk, New York ln its way to Buffalo, New York and beyond. There was a mid-train DPU on this train.
16:39 You are at the Norfolk Southern tracks along Progress Drive and east of Roberts Road, if I am not mistaken. A westbound Norfolk Southern train passes.
18:31 You are at the CSX Middle Road crossing on the east side of Dunkirk, New York. There was a high flying jet plane in the sky that was leaving a contrail of water vapor across the sky as a CSX double stack train passes on the tracks below. There was a mid-train DPU on this train.
20-:35 You are driving on Roberts Road in a southerly direction as you approach the Norfolk Southern tracks and the gates are down. Norfolk Southern train #315 approaches on 8 May 2021. Norfolk Southern train #315 is a daily train from Bison Yard in Buffalo, New York to Moonman Yard in Bellevue, Ohio. This train works Ashtabula, Ohio and Rockport Yard in Cleveland, Ohio.

    For the DODX car on 309 it could have originated in either Binghamton or Hornell that general area is near the Finger Lakes, the Navy has testing facilities in that area so it could have been navy related. Great catch on the dpu alright! Great video WWOT!

    @keith moore ive seen a video of that very exact thing on BNSF in California, super-huge car, had caboose, and hi-rail escort vehicles front & rear. Moving about 5 mph, had at least 3 engines. Definitely high & wide load. Wonder what that load was on NS train?, it really looked more like an underground fuel storage tank like those at gas stations.

    That's downright scary. Decommissioned nuclear missle warhead, being transported by rail. Not telling anybody about it, not even the railroad employees, who could be severely injured or killed if anything set off the warhead??

  • @blackw0lf993

    @blackw0lf993

    It’s empty guys (the warhead not the casing) part of decommissioning is removing the rods and explosives. In this state it is harmless. If it had contained rods or even explosives inert or not it would be treated as a hazardous load thus the railroad would have had to put spacer cars between it and the engine to prevent it from being to close to an engine that could catch fire and burn. Thus burning that car or it’s contents. just because it’s a DODX car don’t exempt it from DOT regs. Also if it had been live there would have been more security IE someone in last engine of the set and usually a caboose behind the container. With all that says it’s still cool it’s a rare car to see on the train and unusual!

    That's definitely not a warhead; there's no way such a thing could be delivered, by bomber or missile, if it was so heavy it required a twelve-axle flatcar to haul around. Likely a naval reactor vessel or steam generator for same. I've seen a few trains that were clearly military equipment. One of them was about a dozen boxcars with a caboose, all DODX, hauled by a single NS Geep heading west on the Burlington from Chicago. Another was a rather long train of 20-foot containers on flatcars heading west of Chicago on the CNW to Omaha, all placarded Explosives 1.6

    If it was a steam generator it would have some type of an exhaust stack. I have seen many steam generators and they have all had an exhaust stack of some kind. It is on a DODX car with a load limit of 600,000 lbs and an empty weight of 178,000, so it is a piece of military equipment.

    With no 'buffer car' between the power and IT, it is most likely nothing dangerous. the cover tarp should have been strapped on better. from the looks of the outer covering of the 'tank', that might be insulation, it might be a giant flask of hot coffee on it way to the front lines somewhere. the CRYO Trans cars further along have the cream. not sure where the sugar is. ha ha
