I think,in theory, if you buy 5 ($25) Amazon gift cards to offset the Bilt requirement to earn points, then you should be able to redeem the Amazon gift cards to use against each amount - negating itself. Thus, we have a cycle of +125 and -125 alike to satisfy the card's requirement and not paying for it besides charges after this

I have to say, I don’t pay rent(yet) but I use this card mainly for food purchases because of the 3x points. When I first got my card, there was some sort of “welcome” offer to get 5x points on purchases for about 5 days or so and rent day always doubles the regular multipliers. A few days ago, I also got this email about another promotion for 5x points for 60 days on Amazon purchases, food delivery, and phone/internet bills.

This card is going to be an immediate add to my wallet once I move rentals. It's such a powerful card with no annual fee. And the ability to transfer out to Hyatt makes it a really solid travel card tbh. Great video John!

The company I work for had an Employee Appreciation Day and they left it to the Managers to put down a personal credit card to use (so they'd petty cash it back to them). The Employee Appreciation Day was also on BILT's Rent Day and we were at a restaurant. I got PHATT points for FREE. It was great. The points I got from that dinner will pay for 3 nights at a nice hotel on my next trip.

Thanx for talking about the alliance. This clarifies it.

My apt complex isn't a part of the bilt alliance and it still works. Bilt pays my apartment either online or sends a check. I also asked customer service and this method can technically be used to pay a landlord if you live in a house/condo

They gave me 5x on all my purchases for 5 days from the day I opened my credit card, with max 50000 points. I took full advantage of the promotion as I had already planned for a large purchase :)

Or you can use it for a business lease property. I know a few small business owners using it for paying their leases. Technically, you could have a check mailed to your mortgage company if you have a mortgage.

John, Love your content! Q: Do you know a way that I can remove myself from the AMEX black list? In 2007, during bad times, AMEX closed my account. Recently, I applied twice with AMEX and got denied . The reason was that Amex closed my account back in 2007. My credit is excellent now in the higher tear 800. Any ideas? Thank you thank🙏

I have a couple of issues with BILT. 1. Can't get notifications when the card is used. 2. No virtual card number for online protection.

Just got approved for $14k. One thing I did notice that I don’t like is the app doesn’t have Face ID security when you open it unlike every other banking app

For car insurance, it's worth noting that the car rental insurance with the Bilt card is CDW, or Collision Damage Waiver only, and does not cover personal liability. It's good to get the personal liability coverage from the car rental company (or get a non-owner liability insurance elsewhere) to cover all your bases! Only calling it out because I learned it recently, after thinking all my car rental bases were covered with cards that gave primary CDW!

So I had a question about Bilt with using the card for rent related purchases. Is parking included with that? I asked because I have to pay for parking where I live.

I heard from another video that primary car rental insurance does not apply for residents of New York but does it apply if I move to another state like Florida after I already have my card for a couple months?

I got a Bank of America World Mastercard that lets me choose the category I want to 3x points on. I set it to 3x points on on-line purchases. Thats the one I use for any online purchases.

@@WeijieYao1994 If you got the Bilt card at some point in the past, you could contact support and explain the constraint, and per their discretion they may give you rent points for months following the Bilt account opening. This is what worked for me, just did it 3 weeks ago (got points from March-July 2023)

Do your research. Figure out where you want to go, when, and where you want to stay. Then work backwards to accumulate the points to pay for it.

That's great to hear you've got the point stashed up, now the fun/hard part...using them haha. The best approach is figure out where you'd like to travel to. What class of flight, how many people. But destinations is a must. Once you have that just punch into google "best to travel to XX using XX points". There should be a ton of blogs that'll get you going. I personally really like Upgraded Points, best of luck!

Many KZreadrs only explain the benefits of the card. Don't mention in detail about how the setup process works. If it's just an explanation, we can understand it by looking at the terms and conditions of the website. I would like to see how to set it up and process the rent with the portal as step-by-step by KZread. If we can't visualize it, people will hesitate to apply for a card. The rent is several thousand dollars and cannot be delayed. So I think the setup process is very important. Please make it 🙏

The big one is the points earn coupled with the ability to transfer to American Airlines for me. Stack on rent days this card is an easy one to keep in the rotation at no annual fee.

It looks like my landlord needs to be part of a membership group, is that correct?

If your not using this card for rent is it better to get the world of hyatt credit card?

How many times can bilt cut me a check for rent a month? I am new to credit cards but I have the funds to pay. I don’t have enough credit line to pay my rent in full with one check. I live in Hawaii with rent being extremely high at 5500 a month. Can I get a check let’s say twice a month?

All of my transactions from the BILT card on my first week of using it had 5X points earned. I guess you call that a sign-up bonus.

Does anyone have any advice on how to turn Bilt denial into aproval ? Reason for denial states " To many inquiries or applications for credit(We look at how much new credit you may be taking out)".

Does Bilt earn with mortgage & rent or just rent?

I applied for this card on 1st march and they rejected my application. Will it get approve if I apply again? Nothing is changed much except my credit score is now slightly higher than previous.

Great video! Could you in theory get bilt under a spouse and have them pay you “rent” via check to pay you for your mortgage and earn points? If you don’t rent can you get the points bonus on rent day?

For the option "use points to PAY rent", what's the value of the points? Example rent $1,000 and used card 5x etc for a total of 1,500 points. Now what is that worth toward paying rent? Is that worth $1.50 off rent? Or maybe $5? Anyone know? Thanks!

Found the answer. 1 point = half of 1 cent. So example $1,000 rent get 1,000 points equal $5 if redeemed toward paying rent.

No gas cashback on Bilt? Why not ? If WF instituted this one feature I would eliminate 1 Chase CC from my wallet in favor. Less competition -- better for WF.

John... does this card makes a sense if you don't pay a rent, have Gold Card for 4x groceries and 4x dining 3x for airlines and CPS 2x travel?

Yup, if you push all your bills (insurance, cell, cable, utility etc) to the first you get 2x back if you charge them to your card. For me that's an easy 4000-5000 in points a month if I don't do anything else, the fact I can transfer them to Hyatt and others, that is even more lucrative. YMMV, but I thought about getting the Venture X card for a catch all for the first of the month expenses, but BILT is fee free…

@@LK_EBM California. These expenses aren't even rent, they are normal bills. I happen to own 3 properties so it adds up. Rent is just 1x…. but anything on "rent day" doubles your points so it ends up being 2x.

I want to use Bilt, I usually pay my rent through Venmo. My Landlord has moved to Spain - how would I go about getting a ck to them without messing up my set payments according to my bi-monthly work deposits for bills , life , rent etc. - Hope you can understand that.....Not sure how to get a "check" to them without being late for rent? Hey, you could set up your check payments one week in advance. That way, the check arrives on time when your rent is due.

This card sucks. They couldn’t very my ID despite me getting approve for venture X that same day.

The biggest downside of this card: it's issued by Wells Fargo. 🤢

Bilt is trash. They have no live phone support. Wells fargo does but if anything goes wrong with your rent payment (which it will eventually) you can't reach anyone and it takes weeks to get it resolved. Canceled this card after 8 very frustrating months. Bilt has no respect for it's customers.

This is just irresponsible financial advice.
