The BBC really should release these on DVD along with any remaining episodes of the programme before Top Gear, BBC's Wheelbase. They would sell in their thousands.

Sadly I doubt it. These wonderful old videos have < 30 k views in up to 7 years. 'New'Top Gear videos get millions!

New Top Gear appeals to a wider audience due to extreme stunts and “entertainment value”, whereas these old top gear episodes focussed more on technical details and were aimed exclusively at motoring enthusiasts.

@@a.tanner8524 Sad. But completely accurate. You have to give people what they want. And what they want is entertainment: not programmes about cars.

Will Brum He fucked it up and was the "traitor" to the informative programme that top gear used to be. It is a pity that it became about the presenters dicking around, all the time. I did enjoy the challenges and the laps... but there wasn't much for ordinary punters, who can afford the valve covers on some super cars tires. I get that you have to be entertained. The problem is that old top gear didn't have enough entertainment, and too much info. new top gear became too much about the entertainment and the presenters, rather than something sensible every now and again. they were "indulged" a little too much. JC can do "serious but funny" as well. he did it on old Top gear. there was too much twattering about. I like the sexy cars, but wouldn't mind a proper review every now and again. finding a balance is very difficult. PS jezza went on record as saying that he wanted Chris Goffey to present a more serious element to the show, but the audience jus wanted them to cock about all the time. I will watch both tg and gt :) I like Matt Leblanc, and Sabine Schmitz and Rory and Chris. I'm glad Evans is gone. he may be a real petrol head but his presenting style is crap for this type of work.

How wrong they where about the uno it went on to be europes best selling car. And fiat quickly addressed the engine issues. With 999cc fire engine whivh was a fantastic little engine i had 45 55 and 2 1.7d diesel All where great cars the 1.7 being able to achive 65 mpg average nearly all the time as i was student at the time that level of fuel economy meant my daily drive to uni was not so expensive . Have very fond memorues ifvthe uno travelled around europe in my 1.7 d it was great. Had a tipo next it was a super car 1.9 sx turbo 55mpg all day long sat 5 people in comfort.

The Fiat segment looks like Orlando, at Church Street Station when the old steam engine used to be on display. The drawbridge is probably on the NASA causeway, which you take to get to Kennedy Space Center and the rocket display.

After doing some research, it turns out Fiat did unveil the Uno at the Kennedy Space Center, rather ironically, 1983 was the year Fiat left the US market.

Well spotted, it's obviously Florida even though I didn't even realise until I read your comment! The highway over the water is Route 1 to/from Key West I believe. But Fiat launched the Uno in Florida... no idea why.

The unveiling was done at the Kennedy Space Center, obviously they wanted to give it an air of being state of the art. And what makes the location all the more ironic is 1983 was the year Fiat left the US market

@@clipstone I stand corrected! Just repeating what I have heard. Another one is Fiat stands for 'Fix it again Tony'. Going by what you say I don't know where this came from. It's probably just an acronym like Lotus - Lots of trouble usually serious. or Ford - Fix or repair demanded. There are a few of them.
