that trick you showed where you try to hold the branch down with the wire to see if the wire gives way is awesome. Since I have very little experience its sometimes ahrd to know which wire to use, but this little tip will definitely save me some time, effort, and wire lol.

It's always great to watch you style a tree. Good info on wire - it would also be helpful to have you point out which wire you used on the different branches on the styled tree if the camera can close in on that a little bit.

It was refreshing to see your take on wire and color. I have been growing bonsai from seed with a controlled grow room. I've always considered wire as a training process that need not concern with wire color and the overall look with the wire on. After all, the tree will eventually be out of wire for shows. In every stage of the tree's life, it should look wonderful. This had me thinking about all of the colors that wire can be purchased being lesser than all the tree shades. Someone should invest in a company that makes many shades of wire. Call it 50 shades of Wire! Your video has made me think about many basic bonsai concepts. The other concept that I am reconsidering is the feature of natural flow. I'm talking about both the natural flow of the tree and the flow of the tree as observed in it's full size counterparts. I'm reconsidering my approach of using smaller than needed wires. I've always done this to ensure the plant is pushing back against the wire and kind of guiding itself. I want to see some of the natural flow in the branches with loose and smaller than needed wiring. Wiring to mimic trees in nature is important as well. Trees do not always need to look unnatural and distorted. Sometimes, less is more. Thank you!

Please do style this tree! Some time lapse, some real time as for eg when you remove a branch or do something different. The trouble with time lapses is that one does not get the full picture. I really enjoyed the video when you wired a first branch, because you went through the rationale for every decision you made. I only started an interest in bonsai last October so it’s been a steep learning curve. I found your site the most helpful of all for a beginner. Keep up the great content.

Dude this video is 1 month too late. Haha. I needed this info back then for purchasing my first wire. I ended up buying 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 5.0, 8.0. I mostly use 2.0 and 3.0 and needed a 1.5 because 1. 0 is just too tiny. Ordered 1.5 and waiting for it rn. What great is i recycle most of my wire and i dont see these wires running out soon.

I was going to try to turn a Chaste tree in my front yard into a bit of a Bonzia but would need a really thick wire to bend the very large branch. C an I tie it down instead of using wire to shape it?

Not meaning to be controversial but why would you make a video and not read and use the comments as a insight to what your viewers want?
