As per my Discus keeping experience would confidently say water is not much of a problem at all.It is that it needs good quality of water thus regular water change and constant temperature. People have a phobia aboutbDiscus that it's v tough to keep until they actually know about how to keep and maintain and keeping it themselves.

Yes in some areas of Kolkata good quality of drinking water is a slight problem which is still sadly existing in present times.

In Kolkata discus are very expensive. And we don't promote the discus fish hobby. Most of the Salers try to make profit from the day one and in this process most of the hobbies has to pay high price. All the sellers are basically brokers and not the actual breeder at all. If we see that one of the biggest discuss breeder in India Sam's discuss also have two franchises . If we want to really explore the hobby and help hobbiest also do the same, we have to provide budget friendly discuss with 2.5 to 3 inch size discus first. Expensive discus will be always there but hobbiest gradually buy that in future. Please provide quality discus in reasonable price so that the hobby and the market of discus grow .

Hi though i dont know how long you are in discus hobby but i believe you have summed up the discus senario reasonably well. Being a breeder and being an importer or seller all have different challenges.All segments are equally important say if all becomes breeders but all dont have marketing & selling skill then breeders job becomes even more tough.And knowing almost all from close quarters there are many in this field who does a job as well and so full time breeding is not possible for all.Moreover the time patience and devotion required for breeding is not every ones cup of tea. Being a hobbist will tell, though we as hobbist welcome a minimum or lesser price but again asking a certain price is a sellers birth right and so is the right of a hobbist to buy or not buy at the price Yes if a country has too many quality breeders, there could be tough competition among breeders also and hence lesser price. Rightly said there should be a mix of affordable and expensive in the market for new hobbist to learn and experience with low price discus to upgrade to pricy ones later on. I believe small size and lesser price is there in market, it's that one have to know who and where the sellers are. It was wonderful interacting with you and getting to know a valued hobbist like yours opinion and feedback.

Please create a video about right way to keep discus fish with these tall wards of Kolkata. You can ask the following basic but most important questions like. 1) minimum quantity to start with for discus 2) minimum tank size with measurement 3) water condition for discus keeping like pH, TDS, Ammonia etc 4) right temperature to keep discus in normal time as well as in disease. 5 ) perfect food dry food as well as GHM and for colour enhancement. 6) medicine required for different common diseases 7) water charge duration and frequency 8) tank decoration and different types of filtration 9) how to maintain TDS and pH 10) different types of discus it's origin and it's approx price range. 11) difference between normal grade discus fish with compare to Marktan's discus, IP discus, Lim's discus etc. 12) about quarantine and hospital tank for discus. In an other video discuss about the discus fish breading in Kolkata with following questions 1) right size for a breading tank 2) water parameters like pH ,TDS, temperature etc. 3) how to select a pair for breading 4) water charge during breading time 5) food for the babies as well as adults 6) any medicine required or not at the time of breading and after hatching 7) when to seperate the babies from their parents 8) how to keep the maximum number of egg intact for fertilization 9) what are the difficulties we can face to bread in Kolkata compare to Mumbai. 10) which strain we can cross breed and which not. Eagerly waiting for your next videos. I try to summarise all the necessary questions as a hobbiest , If the experience breeders of Kolkata share their experience with the hobbiest like us that will be great help to us. Would say so many topics in 1 vdo is almost not possible in my vdo reason i try to go to minute details and push my guests to answer more & in great details about a certain topic in the quest to get more out of my guests and get more informations for viewers.If you follow my vdos you will get recently i try to cover 1 or 2 topics in a vdo in minute detailed manner so as not to have any further questions which can come to any hobbists considering a hobbists perspective and questions in mind.
