The slight problem is that hunter isn't really associated with taunts. Throughout hunter's history, there's only been 4 cards that which is related to taunts, which is misha from animal companion, the 3/3 from bear trap, houndmaster, and king of beasts. Two of these are from the basic set , and the others are from TGT and GVG, meaning that hearthstone hasn't given hunter a taunt card for almost five years

Too strong of a card. It's like rogue's card Pick Pocket, but much better because you can discover. Maybe even at 2 mana it would be dangerous to have so much above-the-average cards packed ain one. Card with this name can simply be "Discover an *Echo* minion." That would be balanced.

Design isn't based off of the flavor of the card, it's based off of the design of the card text. He rates purely off of how viable it would be to be printed in hearthstone.

"You Know a Guy" 1 mana: At the start of your opponent's next turn, they *Discover* a *Taunt* minion to add to your hand with +2/2.

@@d4s0n282 yeah but this card is at best 1 mana get an awesome card next turn and do nothing this one, or more often 1 mana get a bad card next turn. The trick is that you still have to pay for the card you get next turn, your opponent is giving you the card so they can pick the one they can deal with the best, the activation is delayed and really slow. It would really work at 0 mana, and if too strong you can always lower the bonus stats.

This was actually an interesting episode. Despite all the cards being memes, they all shared a lot of mechanics which let Trump give a lot of insight on card design.

Back when MSoG was still relatively new, I saw a custom card with the "I know a guy that knows a guy" name and I liked much more than this version. It was a rogue 1 mana spell that said " Discover a Discover card"

How about... I Know a Big Guy, 1 mana spell: Discover a taunt minion that costs (5) or more.

I was just getting to that point in the expansion where I binge all your old reviews out of desperation, thank you.

That’s not how the future works.

More things we needed: I Gnome a Guy (discover a Gnome minion) I Hone a Guy (give a minion +2 +2 and taunt) I Throw a Guy (a random Taunt minion in your hand enters the battlefield and attacks a random enemy) I Show a Guy (reveal a minion in each player's deck. If yours has taunt, draw it) I Crossbow a Guy (Hunter, Rogue) (Deal four damage to a minion with Taunt) I Outgrow a Guy (Warlock) (Discard a minion with Taunt, replace it with a random Demon) I Overthrow a Guy (also Warlock) (Discard a minion with Taunt, replace it with a random Rogue minion) I Buffalo a Guy (Paladin) (Give a Taunt minion +4 +2 and Deathrattle: summon a 4/2 Boar with Charge) and finally....I Van Gogh a Guy (Silence a minion, then give it Taunt. *Why would you cut off its ear like that?*)

I throw a guy... I can already see Mark going Geomancer into the Maxima Blastenheimer equivalent of Ancient One face, but with a 42/42 C'thun.

On "I know you": There's a subtle difference Trump is missing between Kayne and this card - with Kayne, you can attack enemy non-taunt minions in a pinch, while with this card, it locks you into attacking the enemy hero. Yes, it let you ignore taunts in the face race scenario, but it does nothing in other scenarios where Kayne is still useful as a design.

"Perfect guy for this job" 1 mana epic warrior spell If every minion in your deck has Taunt, wish for the perfect minion.

I think "I Know a Guy Who Knows a Guy" could be interesting and more balanced if it summoned Goldshire Footmen instead of 2/2 guys. 3 mana 3/6 is close to the average I'd expect on turn 3 for a deck really pushing the taunt package and is also a stat line we're (kinda) seeing right now with the Overconfident Orc.

"I _AM_ a guy" 1 mana Give your hero +2 attack until the end of your turn, and *taunt* until the start of your next turn.

The whole idea and some artwork is just amazing.

Besides "I know a spy" which sounds amazing, I would push for "I'm a guy who knows a guy", and it's that guy on the card as a 1 mana 1/2 or maybe 2 Mana 2/3 that discovers a minion with taunt

The artwork on the Noah card looked really cool. Reminds me of old style MTG art. Maybe it should be 'discover a beast and give it taunt'.

When I read I currently Know Multiple Guys I actually died props to the dude who made this beautiful meme

Much as I love Trump's insight into design, Jens really made this video exceptional. _It's just some guy that I used to know._

Giving the enemy hero taunt is wrong for Warrior. However, I would love to see a card that lets warriors give their own hero taunt for a turn. It would be an interesting way to protect their minions, and it can combo with high armor gain and Bulwark.

I've been looking forward to this...

There is that beast taunt 3 mana 4/4 that sometimes comes with the 3 mana hunter spell

I wish I'd known. I'd have made the one that I joked about during the set reveal: "I know a buncha guys" It's Evocation, but for taunts.

I think "Ill make a Guy" is perfect at 1 mana because you're discovering a specific tribe but also adding taunt which may not be available on that mech already. Sure, "give a minion taunt" as a card itself isn't worth 1 mana, but once you bundle it, it could be a 5 star balance

@5:45 I mean you could also just have "I Will Know A Guy" discover from a set pool of futuristic THEMED Taunt guys which aren't and won't be actual cards. MTG did that once with singular cards with mechanics that never came to exist in those forms or with those keywords.

In regards to “I Know YOU!”, Kayn *does* cost 3 more mana, but you also get a 3/5 *charge* for that extra mana. Also how can you call it ok to have this effect in just one class, when the class they gave it to is the most aggressive class in the game? I do completely agree that the effect is degenerate and shouldn’t spread however

You can potentially fix "I'm Noah, guy" by making it possible to discover cards from other classes, pulling things like Winged Guardian.

What if "I Know You" gave your own hero taunt until your next turn. It basically makes your minions invincible for a turn... Maybe a little more interesting.

What about "I am the guy", gives your hero Taunt and 1 permanent attack that also works like thorns, dealing 1 damage to any enemy that attacks your hero.

"guys, stop" is black Knight's battlecry

An interesting use for "Guys, Stop" is in wild combined with Sparring Partner. I would argue because Sparring Partner is a warrior Card, "Guys, Stop" Being Rare or Common is actually reasonable, as Sparring Partner is a simple way for warrior to use "Guys, Stop" in any matchup, and "Guys, Stop" if it were ever printed, would be printed with a new version of Sparring Partner, probably a 4 mana 4/5 "Taunt, Battlecry: Give a minion Taunt." Or a 1 mana 1/2 Taunt Battlecry Give a minion taunt.

Trump saw the memes and knew he had to bring this series back.

I had an Idéa for a card with an effect but I'm not sure on what mana cost + stats would make it balanced. The card idéa is made around it's flavour. So far I've come up with this (filled in "X" wherever I haven't come up with numbers yet) "Stubborn Poacher" X mana X/X Battlecry: Deal 1 damage to a beast, if that killed it gain Deathrattle summon a 4/3 beast. Image I'm gonna use for the card art is an old grumpy dwarf hunter. What would you guys suggest for it to be balanced? I'm thinking the Poacher would have more health than attack as part of it being "stubborn", but other than that I'm pretty much stumped.
