(For K-1s) It is currently taking 60-90 days just for USCIS to send your case to NVC! Next, NVC is taking about 2 weeks to create your case in CEAC, then, it takes around another two weeks for NVC to review and approve your case, and after all that NVC will finally send your case to the embassy, which usually takes less than a week to get there. That’s when either the embassy can schedule or you can schedule an interview (different embassies have different methods, so check with yours for this step).

#REPLAY My daughter-in-law is tired of waiting for over two years to have her I-130 processed and knowing there is still a lot to do after that. Her tourist visa expired just before she applied for her immigrant visa and she now wants to apply as a tourist so she can come over and visit. (Our son and their three children are with her and they are American Citizens.) The embassy has advised in the past that it is not wise to seek a tourist visa while applying for a green card. Please share your knowledge on this topic. Thank you.
