I came here cuz of youtube's recommendation and my first impression was like "this uncle used a pink mecha keyboard? What an OG, this is a real MAN."

Uncle Roger calls her a “Karen” as an insult. It’s not a mistake. People in the west use “Karens” to describe a type of person who is usually female, white, and feels “entitled”. So Uncle Roger is saying she feels like she can do anything she wants to Vietnam’s national dish and she couldn’t care less.

Aside from being bad cooking, it’s very disrespectful, and worse, she’s very famous and teaching millions of Americans wrong. Luckily, she’s also well known for being bad.

Love the straightforward attitude. No sugarcoating, just saying how it is.

It's not the first time Rachael butchers a national dish (and the nationals of that dish come and butcher her in return in the internet). It surprised me you also corrected Uncle Roger. Then I remember he's Malaysian so he may not be 100% accurate in regards to pho. You, on the other hand, are a Vietnamese professional chef, and know the pho like the palm of your hand.
