The best pellets to use for hunting with your air rifle are the ones which you can shoot most accurately with. Test a selection of quality pellets on paper targets to find which ones group best and get plenty of practice with the same rifle so you learn the trajectory and holdover required at different distances and can be confident with your shot placement. When hunting don't shoot unless you are within range where you can place an ethical shot on the head or heart/lungs of the animal.

This is all we need to know🥂 I just purchased my first own air rifle at the age of 45 - although I have had permissions for a 22 Ruger pistol, 2 shotguns and 22lr target rifle and many crossbows over 25 years😊 I also ordered 3 different pellets with the new Remington air rifle and was happy to see that all those were on this vid😗🇫🇮💜

I prefer the JSB Hades because of it's very good accuracy and intense cavitation damage. It's not a deep penetration or metal puncturing pellet as most of the energy is expended quickly on devastating organ damage like the bullet that took out JFK's brain back when I was pretty young in the year 1963.

The Beeman Crow Magnums are some gnarly expanding rounds. Even in low powered guns, they expand. And they are an older pellet, so they are darn cheap. All I shoot with are those and RSW Super Points. They are absolutely devastating when it comes to penetration.

I have always found that any weight pellet that comes out of the barrel as long as its flying at 925 fps to 985 fps it will be accurate . So just pick the pellet that is within that speed that your gun likes that fast.It dont matter if you have a .177 that shoots 1400 fps just get a heavy .177 to slow it down . If you have a .22 cal that shoots 1000 fps get a heaver pellet . Bump it up by a grain or 2.

I am a fan of H&N pellets myself, but some JSB's like the 10.34gr. .177 pellet are great long distance pellets. I think the H&N has the best quality, and thicker skirts that are not dented in the tin. Shot after shot, I am sticking H&N. The metal tipped Hornet is amazing in a magnum break barrel if you shoot a springer well.

If you can get the Daisy Hollow Points they are as... if not more expanding than the Red Fire and are made in the same factory and also maybe the base pellet for the Red Fire. The deep V shaped hollow point is a perfect fit for the red fires polymer tip. You get 500 for 13$ on Amazon or you can order directly from Daisy/Gamo/BSA Barcelona Spain. Awesome hunting pellet to 60 yards @ 900 FPS. Hope this helps and possibly save you some money too. They are very accurate in all of my PCPs.

Is the price of the pellets really important? To me this feels like cheaping out on salt, yeah chinese salt might cost 2 dollar instead of 4 per half pound, but does that really matter? Get the pellet that is working best for you, it's not like you are going to shoot pellets for a couple of hundreds of bucks a month. Especially when hunting or doing pest control, you owe it to the animal, to get as clean a kill as possible.

I have a Gamo swarm Magnum that I really like and it is a hard hitter it will take down anything up to a raccoon no problem and I bet if I got the right shot placement it would take out a coyote. I also have a Gamo swarm Fusion that I really like it is not as powerful as the Magnum but it works really well and it will take out a rabbit no problem. Those are break barrels I also have a Umarex Gauntlet which is a entry-level PCP and it works awesome it just depends on what you are going to want to hunt with it and if you want to be able to shoot in your backyard I shoot all of them in my backyard but the Magnum is a fair bit later than the other ones

@@simonsays5979 I love my Gamo swarm magnum gen2 mag. You probably know that it is best to hold the springer gun lightly and let it shake its groove thing. But if you lighten up that trigger pull, (longer 2nd stage screw is all), and push that butt stock off our shoulder and cheek, (I just barely touch for reference), before you pull the trigger, (A light rigger pull is nice when you are not touching the gun), you can get consistent small game head shots to 80 or even more yards. The H&N Hornet is actually an amazing head shot pellet, (I just received 2,400 of them), and shoots as well as any domes JSB or H&N I have used, (to my amazement). H&N also have thicker skirts than most other pellets, and I have yet to find a dented on in the tin. 16 grain trajectory? On 6 power, I sight in at 35 yards. One mill dot at 63 yards. One more mill dot at 90 yards, (and usually hit 2.5" targets). I think I can out shoot some PCP owners with that set up.

I really like it, I wish that it had open sights but I have an optic anyways, it's just nice to have open sights as a backup. I did put a longer screw in and lighten up the trigger pull significantly and I don't hold it tight into my shoulder and I just cradle it in my hand. It is incredibly accurate and I have been fortunate with all of my pellet guns that they like the Crosman Premier 14.3 grain pellets.
