Mykonos is a Greek island in the Cyclades. According to Greek mythology, the name derives from that of Mykonos, son of Anio, king of Delos and grandson of Apollo. Mykonos is also indicated as the place where the Gigantomachy ended, with Heracles' victory over the Giants. The bodies of the latter, petrified, would be the origin of the large rocks of the island, or would constitute the island itself, depending on the sources. Mykonos is a cosmopolitan island that welcomes thousands of tourists throughout the year. The island was considered a paradise for the LGBT community, and later became the summer "capital" of tolerance in general. In this guide we will visit the seven best beaches on the island, some still unknown to most even in high season.
