The jury system back then was even more corrupt than it is today. Some jurors placed Grande Amore last, claiming it was the worst song of the night. That's some bs right there. These juries need to go.

I've never voted in ESC before but this year I voted for Italy. Not because I loved Maneskin (actually I liked Manizha more) because Italy deserved to win two times before 2015 and 2019. It was justice to Italy and it finally happened❤️🇮🇹

They used to be a jury country from 2011-2013 and it massively switched in 2015 before switching back in 2016. In 2017 they were the favourite going in and slightly against expectation under performed in both votes equally - I say slightly because it was top ten in both votes overall as opposed to Portugal storming both, back to juries bleeping them in 2018, while 2019 was close but no cigar in both. Maneskin had similar results to Toy except narrowly one jury position lower and a larger number of points in the televote including some from every country which ironically both IL Volo and Mans Zermerlow achieved too and is pretty rare.

Italy in 2015 was the best entry. Should have won but the juries hated Italy apparently....

I had forgotten how much Norway got in 2019 but especially Italy in 2015. It also surprises me that Euphoria is only 9th when I, personally, and also so many others, say that it is the greatest Eurovision song of all time, but I guess there was more competition in 2012? Also, how does the quantity of televoters vary so much? Like, how can there be 492 televote points in total in 2009 but only 456 this year?

Ok - I don't think either of Sergei's songs are actually all that and the first one won the televote at least partially on all the flashy graphics IMO. Jamelia was the right result and Heroes is significantly better than A Million Voices. I adored the bleep out the grannies, loved Maniza and want Little Big back if not next year than soon so I don't hate Russian entries just because they're Russian. I think they're over rated because they rely in a lot of cases on over emotive singing and flashy staging.

It is not 78% of all points given but of all points possible to receive by one country. For example, in 2021 country could have 468 pts from televote max if all country gave 12pts. But there is a total of 58 pts given by every country (with the 12 10 8 7 6 5 etc...) So a total of 2262 pts given by televote

No matter what or who won, many songs disappeared through the years. But I dont think there is anyone that will forget how to sing Fairytale.

Is it only me who find it pretty crazy that Estonia with that song is so high in the ranking (4th)? I remember I couldnt understand how that song won. Estonia has had so many better songs other years.

That year was overall horrible so it makes sense a memorable and a catchy song wins

Ukraine now with about 90%. Seems kinda unbeatable

Just imagine having almost 80% of all votes

Took me long enough to realize that maximum points a song can get is currently at 12 points per country, while the total points awarded across all the songs in the competition is 12+10+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1 = 65 from each country, so the songs from a single event on this list can easily add up to more than the maximum said on screen.

I literally forgot that song existed. They probably got so many votes because they're incredible singers. They should sing something else.

@@LittleCrazyGamer disagree that song is for the opera lovers not for commercial radios. People all around the world sold out theatres to listen to them and the song was a hit that year.

@@LittleCrazyGamer maybe becuase it's rare to listen to the opera at the radio(?) but to me it didn't sound commercial at all also the lyrics if you go search for translation, the song sound classical to me.

Spirit in the sky should have won it was SO good, one of my all time faves and it was SO much better then arcade even though arcade was good too spirit in the sky was just PERFECTION
