A nurse in England don't get the half in a year of the worst paid in this list in a week.

Imagine you're an average UK worker, you get up, travel to work, slog for 8 hours, travel home, and pay your own travel expenses. Well the average UK salary is £34,963 per annum so you would need to keep getting up each morning for anything between 5 to 12 YEARS in order to earn what one of these players gets in a WEEK?? Think about that the next time you're struggling to get up and out to work, you're going to have to do this maybe 3,000 times to earn what they earn in a week? Not only that but from your take home pay you're buying match tickets, overpriced shirts, cable etc. to subsidize their insane salaries. And to cap it all off most of these players have no affiliation with your club and are only there because they're being paid obscene amounts of money to play there, and if they get a more obscene offer they'll probably be off to kiss another badge.

@@beatlebrian4404 Yep, and even though they have financial advisors some of them still get caught for tax evasion. Meanwhile your tax is just taken off you by the government automatically and you have no say in the matter. I love football and have been watching it for over 50 years, but the financial gap between the ordinary fans and the players has become crazy. I mean, is one hour of their time really worth 500 hours of your time? I'm not saying skill shouldn't be rewarded because it should, but should kicking a ball around a field be rewarded hundreds of times more than someone who's saving lives or someone who puts their life on the line to protect others?

@@thewildgoose7467 I agree but sometimes football is like gladiators arena. They might get broken ankle, arm, neck, head injury to entertain us. I know there are jobs like coal miner or oil driller on the platforms or other dangerous works (which are extremely well paid by the way) but there are still safety procedures and gears while on the football field nobody could predict what's gonna happen.

@@lemonacidrounds7293 I think it's stretching it a bit to compare modern footballers to gladiators? Maybe going back to the '40's - '70's when the were NOT being paid obscene salaries it may have been more accurate, but not in modern football where if shin pads make contact they collapse like they've been shot. However your comparison to the gladiators does fit in terms of the "bread and circuses" aspect. Just like in Roman times entertainment (including football) is being used to distract attention away from the collapse of the financial system IMO.

@@thewildgoose7467 I just gave an example. Players aren't immune to any kind of traumas. A Sheffield United player broke his leg in an unexpected way and it was nasty. This is what I'm talking about.

These salaries are so unfair, absurd and ludicrous. No athlete in the whole world deserves these kind of salaries. Our world has gone bonkers and crazy.

True. I will say that TV revenues for U.S. Sports are pretty high and can support the salaries under a salary cap but also, the salaries are usually performance based on some metrics. The PL list has some deserved top earners but some seriously poor ones mixed in.

I think this illustrates a couple of things: Spurs want to be a top 4 team but pay mid-table wages. ManU and Cheslea have had terrible recruitment and in their desperation for top 4 have chucked silly money at very average players. City, Arsenal, and Liverpool seem to have got it right (with a few exceptions; Havertz on £280,000 - lol).

This is why football clubs go under or resort to fiddling the books. They simply can't afford these ludicrous wages. What other industry runs at a massive loss just to pay its staff.? Its a joke really

Most of the wages are pretty deserving in my opinion, especially the top 4, however I do believe Man U needs to cut some contracts, they are bleeding money and they could get a squad just as competent by paying 30% or 40% less
