Top 5 UNNECESSARY Disc Golf Accessories

Спорт

Disc Golf has been having some major innovation in recent years. However, just because you CAN make something, doesn't always mean you should. (Much like my hot take videos.) I hope you guys enjoy the video. Be sure to let us know if we missed another whacky product!

00:00 🎥 The video discusses the top five unnecessary disc golf accessories and also recommends some essential ones. 00:41 🤔 The first unnecessary disc golf accessory mentioned is the disc holster by Infinite Discs, which is compared to a thigh holster for discs but is deemed ridiculous and unnecessary. 02:33 🎯 The video questions the usefulness of the disc dot, a small dot used for practicing putting, and suggests that if you can't focus on a regular chain, it might not solve the issue. 04:08 👟 The idiosyncrasy shoes are criticized for their high price and tendency to fall apart quickly, with a recommendation to opt for more affordable options. 06:14 🏋‍♂ The prop pull resistance trainer is questioned as being unnecessary, with the suggestion to use simpler resistance bands or gym equipment for strength training. 07:49 🌮 The disc Raptor, a disc cleaning tool, is considered unnecessary due to its price and bulkiness compared to a simple towel for cleaning discs. 09:00 🎵 A speaker is recommended for casual rounds to add enjoyment and break up the monotony on the disc golf course. 10:08 🧳 A disc retriever is suggested as a necessary tool to retrieve discs from water hazards or difficult-to-reach places. 11:19 🧢 Wearing a hat is recommended to protect from the sun and ticks, especially when playing in wooded areas. 12:56 🛒 A cart is suggested for older players or those with physical limitations to reduce strain on the back and knees when carrying a bag of discs. 14:51 🧼 Carrying a towel is emphasized as a necessity for cleaning discs and maintaining grip during a round of disc golf.

I have a disc raptor. I would say there is value in it over the towel. The disc raptor is just as "bulky" as a towel haning over your bag. Difference is, your not walking around with a dirty, or wet, towel getting your fingers dirty, or wet, and reapplying that same dirt, or moisture, on your disc as your cleaning it. The disc raptor solves that problem for us clean freaks and saves you a significant amount of trips to the laundry room. 😂

Okay okay that's fair. I'll give it a little more credit after that. The amount of times I clean my disc off with a dirty towel is insane. hahaha Probably why I'm always sick.

The Propull is not good for physical training imo, but if you are working on form indoors its really great, especially for forehand formwork which lets the disc in hand show the hinges and what joints are "weak". Just need to be careful to not get a tennis elbow/epicondylitis since its not a good way to strength train. I got it as a gift and when the weather was the worst I didn't have to risk any windows. The thing different from you is I got sunset before I have any free time over to do anything now during winter... the snow makes things brighter but that also makes it hard to get anything done outside without spending the last light to search for discs :P I actually use it to both get to hold a disc and do the motions against impingement in my shoulder just like a normal resistance band. Not picked it up this winter yet, but will do soon. ;D

The pro pull is based on a fundamental misunderstanding of how backhand form works. It’s literally working your start a lawn mower muscles. The throw is about horizontal movement slamming into the brace and turning to rotational force. Not pulling hard. I can’t speak towards its usefulness for forehand.

  • @Iliyena87

Just for the formwork, I do not think its a good tool for making quick musclefibers quicker anytime ever and thereby you are just building some strentght if you have ZERO of it, which is great, but else... nah. I would like a comment from KJusa whom have promoted it! :D

I literally just got a new one in the mail yesterday. It has a radar gun feature too that's why I bought it. I want to know how many MPH I'm throwing the disc. It's probably not that fast as I'm only throwing about 350'. But I'll let you know once I try it out.

@@PopsTWODG846 did you learn all your distances before hand? Example, i can use 3 different grips with my putter and my distances are 240, 272, and 298 so when im playing and the basket is 275, i know which grip and disc to use. If you only have a range finder and don't know you're own distances, they are useless

@@InbredJed82060 I’d say I did for the most part. I’d assume I’m in the majority and tend to play the same few courses close to where I live most of the time. That being the case, over time you know exactly how far you are away from a pin and what disc you need to use in a given situation. When I found the range finder to be most beneficial was when I visited new courses, but again, over time I just started to rely on my eyeballs over equipment. I do see the benefit to using them though. To each their own.

Infinite holster is great for certain situations... I've loved it for several things. A) Playing a putter only round B) Winter putting league C) On vacation and only taking a couple of discs D) Putter pouch on my DIY cart. Thanks so much for making fun of me for using it though...
