Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Learning how to scrub can be a powerful tool to help shave time off your laps by getting your wheels back on the ground quickly so you can get back to twisting the throttle. James "Bubba" Stewart is credited with perfecting and bringing the scrub to the masses, and nowadays you will be hard pressed to watch any level of racing without seeing some variation of the scrub. In this video, we catch up with Kris Keefer as we get his top 5 tips for learning how to scrub the right way.

Kris....that's a whip ol' man! Us old guys just do whips...bad backs don't let us scrub anymore. Matthes is going to have a field day with this video, he'll probably create an entire podcast about it!! LOL You killed it at the Vet World...I don't care what anybody says!!

I love Keefer, such a HUGE fan of his! Thanks to everyone involved in these videos, they're great. I want to point out how smart it was of Keefer to say it took him a few years to get it right. Kids (I'm guilty of it too) just want to learn how to whip immediately so they can take a pic for the 'gram. Whipping can be so dangerous, I like the fact that he added that comment, it immediately gives you a sense of "ok, this is for real, its going to take some time, lets get it right". Thanks Keefer

I never had a riding lesson.. I didn't realize you can control the bike a lot by putting more weight on one foot peg as opposed to evenly on both .. You can steer a street bike quit a lot by putting more weight and pressure on the inside foot peg..

When I raced Motocross in the late 1970's I don't think this concept was invented yet..

  • @Peanutdenver

James Stewart was the one who invented it or at least the first one to do it in a race. I think some of the Metal Mulisha guys like Brian Deegan claimed they were doing it(scrubs & whips)in the 90s.

I think that 1970 and 1980's jumps and the way the bikes were back in the day weren't optimal for being able to scrub and whip. Yeah riders were doing whips in late 80's and 90's at the finish line but couldn't do it regularly.

Keefer, you still aren't scrubbing. You want your weight lower, so you have to either lean the bike before you get up near the of of the jump face, and/or you have to hang off the side to lower your CG, as you lean over, prior to the top of the jump.
