Things to Do in Yellowstone:
Yellowstone Wildlife - the wildlife inside Yellowstone is vast with over 400 different species. Of course, everyone really wants to see the bison that wander through the park but there are other animals like elk and pronghorn to capture on camera.
I suggest you bring a camera with a big lens, a pair of binoculars or a spotting scope to really feel like you're up close and personal.
Speaking of up close - don’t forget that these animals are wild so follow Yellowstone’s park guidelines and stay a safe distance away when approaching an animal .
Grand Canyon of Yellowstone - this canyon is huge and its waterfalls are incredible. With many different overlooks to capture photos you could spend hours here. However, I recommend arriving early as parking fills up very fast for this area.
Old Faithful - this massive geyser erupts several times a day and was one of the biggest features that inspired the establishment of Yellowstone as the world’s first national park. One of nearly 500 geysers inside Yellowstone, it’s located in the south western portion of the park and is well worth the trip.
Grand Prismatic Spring - this spring is not only massive but beautiful to stare at from atop its overlook. I recommend checking it out at eye level first then taking the short hike up at the next pullout to really get a good glimpse of what you walked around. While Old Faithful may be more famous, the Grand Prismatic Hot Spring is the most photographed feature in Yellowstone.
Driving - There’s nothing quite like a beautiful drive through Yellowstone. While there aren’t any buses that can take you through this amazing national park - there are plenty of pullouts for you to enjoy and rest at along your journey.
