    There is a problem with the last cpu myth. Using the example of the macbook, when the cpu gets to a certain temperature, the cpu will throttle itself so it doesnt melt. Sure, a cpu thats running at 30C feels pretty warm to the touch, and isnt a problem, but a warm cpu usually is around 80C where throttling is the only thing keeping it alive.

  • @skifree0

    @skifree0

    9 жыл бұрын

    TheEvilVargon you kind of have to be careful of what counts at throttling. A cpu does not throttle @ 80C. thats usually where it stops turboboost. So in a way it is thottling, but its going back to its stock speed. true throttling (going below the specs) occurs at PROCTHERM which is set 5C below TJmax. at thermtrip (when it reaches tjmax), the cpu shutsdown.

    HailgodMCYes a lot of faster macs have problems with this. Yes its faster to let the CPU run so hot that it has to throttle itself in fear of overheating than rather just stock downlocking it so much it runs cool. But if you gave it proper cooling to keep the temperatures normal and even letting it turbo boost you gain a lot more speed.

On stock cooler it doesn't really get hot enough to thermal throttle or become unstable due to thermal limits. modern processors tend to hit other walls before thermals become too much of an issue.

    Last year I bought a Huawei P8 for about half the price of the then flagship Galaxy S6, and I can say that it runs everything like a charm (specs and performance are close to S6). Build quality is excellent, the phone is extremely rugged. The only downsides between this, when compared the S6 I have are no waterproofing and an LCD screen (even though the colors are awesome, the brightness is kinda low). Soo yeah, cheaper brands FTW

    Solason Colón The reason why Macs don't get viruses isn't because they _can't_, it's because almost all viruses are made for Windows because it has a *_far_* larger market share. Mac OS (as of writing this comment) only makes up about 7.3% of the market whereas Windows is over 91%. If you wanted to make a virus, would you rather target 7.3% of users, or 91% of users? Macs can (and _have_) been infected with viruses in the past, and are still susceptible to adware and malware. Some examples of Mac virus are OSX/Leap which was a trojan-worm, OSX/Krowi and OSX/Hellrts, both of which were backdoor viruses that connected to a remote server and waited for commands, OSX/OpinionSpy, which - as the name suggests - was Spyware, and OSX/Flashback which could gather usernames, passwords, and even get data about your banking information. If someone wants your information, it doesn't matter if you're running Windows, Mac, or Linux. Every single operating system has vulnerabilities, no matter how "safe" they may seem.

  • @sleepervb

    Neonemerld ha, Mac can easily get a virus. And like windows is usually a mix of real manual ex. PDF file and user stupidity when they get a message adobe needs to install something. Last couple of days I had 3 macs with viruses and a lot of adware. The only thing I can say about it is how easy it is to remove it. Login to recovery remove the correct files reboot and scan and your safe again in less then 15min. User stupidity is number one cause for viruses both on win and mac. There are indeed more viruses out for windows but in general all genres of viruses that exist on windows exist on Mac

    Does having a long ethernet cable actually slow down over the length?

  • @kurisubrooks

    @kurisubrooks

    9 жыл бұрын

    Sxcred Because it's a digital signal, no. Older cables that were majorly copper, yes, as the longer the cable the more interference. This isn't the case anymore.

  • @Flynn_

    @Flynn_

    9 жыл бұрын

    ***** That's not entirely true. While digital signals and DSP can cut down on interference, any slow downs or other issues would be caused by electrical resistance. The majority of cables still use copper (or a copper composite) and the longer the cable, the higher the resistance as you travel along it. This is why CAT5e cables will switch from 1gb to 100mb after 100m. Newer CAT6e and CAT7 cables are made of copper composites and use different voltages and currents to mitigate this resistance over long distances. Only cables made of glass fiber and other similar materials are not prone to interference or resistance.

    Sxcred Not significantly. At long lengths it'll add a few milliseconds to the ping, and after about 300ft at cat6 the signal will be lost altogether as copper can't carry the signal long enough. TLDR: If it's short enough to make a connection, not really.

    Yeah but gold plated ports and cables don't corrode, i have seen some old cables/ports that don't work anymore because of corrosion, especially in more humid areas. But even that's unlikely to ever occur to the normal user and even if it does you can probably buy 5 more of them for the price of one premium gold plated cable. Then again if for example your motherboard connector corrodes then that will be a bigger problem.

Cheaper upfront but alot more expensive in the long run

    In my opinion, PCs are better. Pcs: Are cheaper (a $400 gaming PC is more powerful than a console) Have more download only games (STEAM) Have free games, instead of ones that costs $60 Multitasking It's a PC, so you can also edit videos, make videos, edit images, audio etc. On a console you can just play games, play games, play games. Are upgradable̥ͦ s̥ͦo̥ͦ t̥ͦh̥ͦḁͦt̥ͦ y̥ͦo̥ͦu̥ͦ c̥ͦḁͦn̥ͦ upgrade your parts later on if you decide to upgrade Can use keyboards and mice, way more accurate than a controller You get the point, right? And did i mention there are a lot of stupid kids on consoles?

    haNd ballnut A $400 gaming PC is equal to a console in terms of performance. I have seen many $00 gaming PC builds and none of them are better than a console but they are equal. A $500-$600 Gaming PC will get you much better performance and outperform consoles.

    thats what you think. the temps of a single component can increase the temps of the rest. when my gpu is at full load, around 80c, it increases my cpu temp by about 5c. its not that noticeable if you dont pay attention but my cpu never passes 73c under 100% load, while im editing, but when im gaming my cpu temps go as far as 78c and rarely, but i have seen it, 80c. and while gaming my cpu doesnt even get near 100% load. if your cpu is running stable at those temps constant then you may have won the silicon lottery. i sure didnt since my cpu wont pass 4.3ghz without the temps skyrocketing over 90c.

    +SauS I've tested Gear Vr and it's alright, although very similar to Cardboard VR which is fucking FREE. All Samsung phones are laggy junk due to a huge launcher Samsung puts on stock Android called TouchWiz which is both ugly and bloated. Okay, true, monitors and TVs are very fair

    +SauS A few solid minutes, and even 30 sec are enough to catch the resolution and how cheap and shitty the build is

    Running applications in background will definitely reduce your battery life. 2:51 Austin you were saying hotter the cpu allowed to be more freedom it has to run at higher clock speed. Due to thermal throttling cpu or gpu will perform less in hot temperature.

    For the HDMI cable statement, I can get 50' cables for 23.99 at PrimeCables. However sometimes you want to spend a bit more on a cable because I have had cheap cables break. True a better cable will not offer a noticeably better audio/video signal, but in terms of durability you might want to spend a few extra bucks, especially if you are using it with a laptop or something you will be plugging in/unplugging often.

    I got new cell phone because I need a big portable storage. I can upgrade the storage to 128gb which I need because I take a lot of photos. I need to transfer them from my camera to my phone when I am not at my desk. That is a plus. Thanks for the video. I always enjoy your videos.
