If you've decided to create a shadow theater performance at school 👩🏼‍🏫 or university 👩🏻‍🎓, entertain kids 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦, or try something new with friends 👯‍♀️, then this video will definitely come in handy for you.
When we started, we knew almost nothing about this genre. Now, after 12 years, we have accumulated knowledge and are ready to share it with you 💪🏼🙏🏻.
🔷 In this 8-minute video, we will tell you about 5 basic rules of shadow theater and share some tips we use during our rehearsals.
🔹Rule 1:
The closer an object is to the light, the larger it appears in the shadows.
🔹Rule 2:
The working area behind the screen has a rectangular shape/area, and the "visible" part for the shadows looks like a trapezoid. "Blind spots" are created on the sides, where you can wait for a figure to appear or prepare props.
🔹Rule 3:
You can hide an object in your shadow simply by changing its angle of inclination and position in space.
🔹Rule 4:
The size of the "blind spot" on the floor depends on the height of the light source.
🔹Rule 5:
The consistency of lifting props in the shadow can be determined by looking at the parallel lines on the screen.

📌 These were our first attempts at recording shadow theater tutorials. We aim to make the genre more accessible.
