    I bought a number of German manufactured Parkside power tools and products and so far, I'm not disappointed with the performance of any of them, especially my 80 amp inverter welder. In my opinion, they were all really good value for the money. Although It's sometimes difficult to obtain some of the larger items in local stores. Gotta get my hands on one of those plasma cutters! 👍

    The hole in the root is most likely caused by your movement whilst welding, this changes the contact tip to work ratio and the welder adjusts the current depending on this. Try not moving so much and you may find better results with this welder. A root gap of that size and no bevel wouldnt really allow for much penetration either.

    The 18V grinder is very handy not as powerful as a corded tool but really useful. However it needs the 4Ah battery. 2Ah can’t deliver the current. When cutting make sure the disc can’t get trapped. Mine now needs new power circuits because the disc trapped and overloaded it. I’m sure it’s repairable but frustrating.

    Question, on MIG mode, when joining the adjacent pieces, they are rather thick and in terms of weld penetration seems to get to roughly 2/3 of the way on the 5mm metal. So presumably it would work spot on for small-ish car body patching where the metal thickness is less?

  • @sanskrit011

    @sanskrit011

    I never bought tools of any kind from Lidl'. Now, when I see that even when those tools are not handled as a pro will do, I think that, those tools are more than good enough for home use. It looks like it. Usually, I’m very skeptical when it comes to 2-in-1 tools, not to mention 4-in-1. If in the long run, this 4-in-1 tool will function as shown, it could look, that it is a kind of winner too, for occasionally home use. Mai by more than that. Who knows. I don't know if Bosch is behind Parkside, but they look very much alike. On the distance, anyway.

    As a user of Parkside tools of many types I hesitated about the 4-in-1 as well. Bought it, used for cutting tree branches for about 45 minutes and the motor failed. Got money back from the store, then decided to buy only a single-use tool. Anyway, Parkside is definitely worth for a hobby user, good value for money.

After alot a research discovered you can buy a multi box from China with selection of parts that are 100% better than the originals !! I've cut coil springs and bearing races out with it "I'm a Mechanic" and it's still working perfectly. £79 for the cutter and £12 all the way from China for the tips I can't fault it :)

    As @V Star 1300 Adventures points out below: (VS1300A appear to be from the USA, and I'm in the UK) These are found in LIDL supermarkets. They are also available via UK Amazon & UK eBay. I presume they are also available europe wide in LIDLs too - if any mainland europeans can confirm this?. Some research leads me to believe that they are rebadged tools from other manufacturers (EinHell being one of them). I have a few of their bits and bobs and they seem fine, Santa will also be bringing me a Parkside Bench Grinder and Belt Sander for Christmas 2020 - They only cost £20 each, so for an impulse buy it was a no-brainer. They may be entry-level and home diy only, but I can't say that fpr certain. They look alright and I've not seen anyone saying they are out and out bad.

    Thank you. I have very old tools from brands like Makita, Festool, Milwaukee... those are really robust and professional tools and work for 15 or more years. Only time will tell if Parkside can handle the same stress. But I think they are not designed to work all day long as the expensive brands. For the time being these Parkside tools work great. Especially the welder and plasma. I paid 200€ for the welder and it does the job done. The only thing that it lacks is wire feed speed.

    @@MakeAndTest Thanks for the great reply. I think you are correct in that Parkside tools are good for basic tasks but extended use or pushing the tools to their limit for too long is not a great idea.
