Haaaaa ETG… So disappointing… Seing that the patrons supporters still didn’t have their reward is so upsetting and greedy🙄 Seing that they banned people from their discord and social media for giving constructive feedback is infuriating😒 and seeing the mods and ambis being treating like this is just so disrespectful! I am glad that this game offered me a place for my creativity but it is not because of the team but because of the community that cared for that game🥰

Fun fact. Horse Isle recently got into another debacle over people using discord and facebook as an alt way to sell horses (for gold dust/mobia, in game currency), people went NUTS, global got muted, so people started asking for salt in ads, everyone got a chat ban. Even if they weren't taking part in things. Horse isle 3 needs new people running it.

To me, ETG is just a hobby. A breeding game like Rival Stars. I don’t compete often, just breed to get pretty horses. Lol. I have never bought E-coins, and play it for the fun it has.

I only breed and train horses. I find competing a little boring most of the time. I have one horse in Grand Prix. Then the breeding update came and I like to breed very weird and beautiful crossbreeds

The game is free though? The only thing you can spend money on is cosmetic items and the pass which you don’t even need! It’s far from pay to win games like rival stars horse racing for example!

I do still play ETG as it's a fun little game to pass time. However, I was absolutely shocked on how expensive the E-coins were (I play SSO and even that looked cheap next to them), the controls are really iffy and take A LOT of time to get used to and generally the game doesn't run that smoothly which can be frustrating. I do enjoy watching videos like this though, keep up the good work :D

It’s sad about Wquestrian the game. I was super hyped for the game.

As for ETG I didn't even know about all the extra stuff going on with the livestreams! They've just not had a good run, I feel kinda bad for them. The first thing that ALWAYS pops to mind is 'potential' so much potential and just wasted because as you said 'they handled it poorly' what a tragedy. Just a brilliant summary of it, and the fact that they made it for an adult audience and then treated them like kids is a brilliant insight. In all the commotion I didn't even see it like that. Hello! Awesome video plus very interesting. Im glad to finally see HI3 get mentioned. I've played HI3 for about a year now, and thankfully the community so SUPER supportive. We tend to not deal with mods often since they're not online too often. I wish HI3 had lax rules, especially if Star Stable can do it. There's also ways to trade in game currency for premium currency via trading with other players so you don't have to drop a dime in HI3. I've stuck around HI3 because the players are amazing, breeding is TOP NOTCH, exploration and crafting is super fun. Its hard to pick up but there's plenty of players will to help and give free horses! HI3 is community ran at this point, and the community loves everyone. 💖

Yeah first time playing Equestrian the Game, I was incredibly disappointed in it- seeing this, I completely understand why the whole game just died

Still so confused why they translated Ostwind to windstorm 😭 it means east wind and i think it’s so cool

I have had windstorm since it’s release and I was always impressed because no game at the time of it’s release was good in terms of graphics and usually didn’t have a storyline but windstorm had and still has both good graphics and a really impressive storyline

When I first played ETG, I actually enjoyed it. I found the controls fun to learn and found them unique, the horse models are fine (just wish I could see the model gallop). However, it became repetitive and boring after a while, the E-Coins were just impossible to get without paying (and for people who like horse games, but are broke was definitely not ideal). There was almost no consequences for losing competitions, and, while they had a large equipment store, you couldn’t get it. But my biggest pet peeve is they claim to be realistic, but they don’t even have grooming or a paddock for the horses to stretch their legs from their small stalls. There is hope from me that it will get better, but I’ve had it for over a year now and it’s basically the same as when I first got it.

I play horse isle 3 a lot. It’s hard to get started but really good once you get the hang of it. It’s real life to with inflation in the markets for certain items and that. To be fair I feel like it’s one of the best games out there

The original spirit game will always be top tier. I loved that game to death, it was so much fun to play with my little kids brain

I have been playing Horse Isle 3 for awhile now and I absolutely love the game! HOWEVER.. There have definitely been issues with power-hungry mods and as said in the video.. some other situations. As long as you find yourself the right community, the game is a much better experience. ^^ Although graphics are not the greatest, they are bearable. To make up for it, there are genetics, genetic mutations, TONS of breeds, trading, selling, auctioning, events, farming, caves, so much to do! I can't even list it all. I recommend trying it out, although it is a little difficult to get the hang of. Kind of cool for HI3 to be mentioned though, it isn't very often!

I remember when they first created their Facebook page and they were advertising their game as something similar to Alicia online luckily people found out quickly it was a scam…that was so long ago when you mentioned the game it brought back memories 😂

I play HI3. I think they need to be more laxed on casual sexuality, like referencing two mothers or two fathers, or that you have a GF/BF, but I also understand WHY they don't like people talking about it. I'm bisexual, and I know that some players would be SO homophobic if we were allowed to discuss it all in depth. They want to avoid certain topics BECAUSE of how quickly the players would turn against one another, and frankly while I think they need to loosen up, it's nice to not have politics/"sensitive" topics allowed in games and instead focus on the game itself.

Honestly, I really liked the Spirit game. It didn’t seem buggy to me and was pretty fun and enjoyable. It was also another horse game I could get on Nintendo. I think the graphics are pretty nice and kinda like a cozy game. I really like the quests and glad it isn’t very grindy. Overall I really like it. I also really like ETG. I think the creators did a good job with it.

ETG has also scammed people out of their money. I no longer have the chat but my friend was signed up for updates etc and she was finding money was being withdrawn from her Paypal. They were such small amounts, she never noticed at first, but then those amounts began to increase and when she found out it was ETG, oh man. Pissed isn't the word. To my knowledge, again, not in the chat anymore as it became highly toxic, but there's threats of suing the company for the finical losses.

I would have loved a nostalgic quality spirit game. I used to play one on the pc as a kid. These are so disappointing, I’ve always imagined my dream-horse-game. Some of these games really spoke to every equestrian’s dream game. :(

I am one of the player of Horse Isle 3. 🐴 I am not really shure about this situation with LGBT+. It might Look a Little werid when you showed it, but many games dosen't allow us to talk about our gender. Thankfully the community of WHI3 is really Nice and tolerant and it support LGBT+ as much as they Can. Also I really recomend this game if you love horseriding, exploring, collecting and survival games mechanics. It might be pretty hard at the beggining - if you don't watch any tutorial - but It is quite charming and addictive at the same time. Even if the game itself has really Cartoony (Roblox-like) Look, I mean (biomes, players) The Horse models, coats and genetics are pure Gold. I am guilty to admin that, they look even better than our beloved Sims 2 Horses (of course there allways is uglyduckling in the pond but most of them are stunning or just pretty). It could have been one of the Best Horse games, if it would get more attention form horse ytbers, bc community is too small to promote this game by yourself. 😅

I can assure you that HI3 is an aboslute mess. The moderation staff are a bunch of childern, I've witnessed this first hand, and don't get me started on how dare we use slurs but they are out here still calling the Irish cobs Gypsy Vanners. Even star stable changed the name, but HI team aboslutely refuses even when damn near the whole community is screaming for it. There is a lot wrong with the game, and while it does have nice points, there just isn't enough to balance the way the staff act, even if we ignore the points I mentioned earlier.

I've been playing HI3 before the whole LGBT+, also was involved in defending LGBTQ+ players as I am one too, and I can tell you all of what she said is true and actually happened. The mods are horribly homophobic and transphobic, but (most) of the fanbase is wonderful!

I LOVE your videos I personally adore Equestrian the Game, but the launch was horrific. I'm from Australia, correct me if I'm wrong we had to wait for about 2-3 months maybe longer (just guessing from the top of my head) for it to be launched here. I love the game but refuse to support it financially due to how expensive it is just to buy gold to purchase the seasonal passes to then BUY more gold for the next released season. When I first played it the controls were frustrating and hard to understand, now that I've played it for over 6 months it's really enjoyable

You should do a new view on HI3. It's gotten so much better and worth playing now. I wasn't there at the start, I got it way later on and have enjoyed it so far.

Ostwind (i think that’s how it’s spelled) reminds me a lot of the horse riding part of ‘the last of us’. The rider looks a lot like the main character , Ellie. The shirt , the hair , and the bow. Anyways I thought it was cool :)

HI3 player here, been going for 3 years. Things have absolutely not improved in the slightest. In fact I'd say things are a bit worse even. The homophobia is blatant and the management is all over the place. It's not uncommon for abrupt rule changes to occur within the forums itself, which can be very tricky for new players to navigate or find (As a veteran player, I barely touch the forums so a new player would likely barely see them.) As well, the chat is often player-moderated which lends to some very unfair situations of some players flagging and thus, getting others chat banned over trivial matters. Chat channels that should be more private like Buddy chat is not immune to this, as the mod team can spy on that chat and also can punish you for talking about something in that chat if flagged or their attention is drawn to it. The community is very frequently split with trust wavering as nobody knows who will flag you for a trivial reason or not. Likewise, any genuine issues that come up are usually dealt with by the Global Chat being muted rather then sorted out properly. As I and many others worded it, the players are being put on time out like children rather then the issue being dealt with. Often when the chat is unmuted, the issue is completely swept under the rug under the threat of longer mutes or silent chat bans. The game's features are often not entirely polished and it's known it is not well optimized since even gaming computers can have difficulties running it. There is very little in the way of guides for new players. Usually this is also done out of the kindness of other players, who place signs around their club's welcome area to try and help new players. The game itself just throws you into the world and expects you to figure it out. I dare say most new players only stay because others are kind enough to give them a horse with tack. Early game wise, there's very little to keep most people coming back. They have an absurd amount of horse breeds and are frequently adding more. However most of these are barely usable or irrelevant as the competition world in-game is in a stranglehold with Thoroughbreds and Thoroughbred built horses. Anything else has little chance of success. The only good thing about it is the very detailed breeding mechanic, genetics, differing conformations, hybrids and the open game world. Is that worth dealing with a mod team where only one or two is trustworthy, homophobia is rampant, the team make very questionable decisions on what is or isn't allowed, and you can be stuck unable to talk for two days all because one person didn't like your opinion and flagged it as offensive content? In my opinion, no. But alas, HI3 is the only open-world horse game of its kind right now so that's what the players gotta deal with, at least the ones who are not in the mod's favor.

It’s fine to play and support the game, as long as you’re aware of the issues the company have! I personally still play because I enjoy some aspects (apart from the repetitive competing, bored of that after being forced to do it 100000 times!) and there is nothing that can compare in terms of mobile horse games :))

It’s a shame with HI3, the HI series are by date imo, one of the best games on the market (wasn’t feeling the 3D design though in the latest) but, wow. That’s one way to really destroy your own product & game.

ETG hurt me so much. I was honestly expecting a SSO-like game but with more realism, horse related or general livelihood. It’s so boring and a lot of the functions are frustrating. I dislike the reign mechanics as realistic they should be, controlling is too difficult and if you don’t play 24/7 your horses’ form will deteriorate so quickly. Had high hopes and really got disappointed.

Time to add Horse Tales Emerald Valley Ranch to the list. At this point I'm just gonna sell my physical copy back

I was so upset with HI3 as I loved HI1 and both eternal and life cycle but HI3 was just/is horrible. Very disappointed

I loved ETG when I first played but after a while I felt like I was trying to do the same thing over and over again. I heard about all the discord drama, but did not really care, but I can see that they did not include people for a long time. I didn't watch the live but that's with so many things. They give uninteresting or exciting title and then they wait so long to announce it or it's really boring and not what you expected. I love horses, but the horse movies and games just aren't as good as they should be. I got the game in May so I'm not sure when my country got released to, but I heard about it, and I do not think it is fair to all those people who had to wait sometimes over a year, and get any disappointment in the game. Please give me a shoutout, even though this is an old video I hope you see my comment. Thank you if you did by the way!

tbh, i'm glad i left horse isle 3. as i left, drama started to become heavy, god.

I like ETG for its genetics and for the models, otherwise I hate the game and only ever play for the horses I have. I won't be in the community other than roleplayers on tiktok. I'm not a fan of many games recently and stick to roblox and minecraft because they're growing in quality.

Well the movie "Ostwind" (which translates to "Eastwind") was not that good as well, sooooo xD Also I love how you keep "roasting" Dreamworks for their unfairness towards an epic 2D movie. Also huge respect for joining the Discord of the "Horse 3D" game and calling them out.

I've been playing ETG and it's frustrating, I love that the game allows us to buy many horses without having to spend real money, but the game is boring, the only competition they have is jumping, and even though they have a great dressage system, there are no competitions for dressage. The game is buggy, and also... I wanna know who had the brilliant idea of using the same mechanics that are for turning the horse also be for jumping 😆

Ive been playing HI3 for quiet some time., and oh it has been a true show. The spectacle didnt end with war crimes and lgbt+ but they lack any ear for listening to their playerbase tht they now try to push away. /some mod/ randomly bans, then decides to make a rule post IN THE FORUMS the day after, i'll see if i can send you the logs and also the posts that they have absolutely no regard to their playerbase. Equistrian the game. I was so hyped for that!! Then they decided to put it on mobile only instead.. my mood was instantly killed, and it doesnt look nearly as good as promised.

I actually agree with horse isle 3, keeping the whole lgbtq topic off the game is better for everyone. They do that with religion too, it’s to keep violence off the game to keep people’s feelings from being hurt, you just play the game and make friends. And if you can’t talk about that go somewhere else get on discord and talk. It doesn’t matter what you believe take it somewhere else.

I seriously wish horse mobile games could be better. I was so excited for ETG but that went downhill so fast and now, not having a PC, I can't find a game like it. Both Rival Stars mobile and ETG are just for the money, and ETG's devs do not listen at all to their players at all.

Ik I'm really late sry I'm in agreement about ETG, it's hard to control, not realistic in any form and unfinished. If you want to get a game where you don't have to buy currency used to buy like everything as there is a way to get the currency, DO NOT GET THIS GAME. You start off with 50 E- coins end up spending 7 within the 1st 10 mins and are encouraged to spent more on tack! I am left with 4 and am unable to spend them AT ALL! Want an entertaining horse game that is easy to control and more realistic? This is not the game! It does not look realistic at all. It is hard to control reins if you are newer,it is also not realistic that you must lean forward before jumping! Not to mention, your horse will either slow down or speed up! I wish that it wad not rushed, you could earn E- coins easily and there were quests. It had potential.

I was so hyped for equestrian the game but the gameplay was so bad ... So is stoped few days later and I never heared of that game again. Like... really xD KZread was full of it and then just like one week or so... nothing xD

I love playing HI3 just recently got into it, to be honest as bad as the situation is I don't think I'll be able to stop playing it. I'm not someone who actively talks a lot (in global or with the community) though I do tend to speak often and not very formally with my friend who just recently got me into the game, and they even blocked words such as God. Wow. Anyways she and I both are in a bit of an addiction faze to the game at the moment, however I will now be keeping in mind that I shouldn't talk about these topics unless I want to get banned.. :,)

Thanks for the multiple TMQ article shoutouts, Abigail 🥰 I would take the "ETG fail" (and especially Rattle's video on it) with a big grain of salt, though. No doubt Kavalri could have handled some things better, specifically with regards to player expectation management and community management. But the reviews on the app stores are still largely positive and the game launched to a top position in the app store when it went live globally. From what I can tell, it is still on a very successful (or at least promising) trajectory critically and financially, with the disappointed fans being a very vocal minority.

You’ll find if you do read the reviews that it’s quite clear younger audience members are the ones doing most of the positive reviewing (even though Kavalri have stated many times that their game is for *adults*). The negative reviews are clear, concise and strike very good points on why the game, but in particular, the company is awful. You have to also understand the freedom that ETG gives players in comparison to whatever the hell is the rest of the horse game market - and that’s why Kavalri has a successful game. They can do the bare minimum and charge players insane amounts of money for a few basic cosmetics but can get away with it because they have NO competition.

@@ellie27 I would hesitate to make such sweeping statements about which demographic section enjoys the game and which doesn't. People who have nothing to complain about are a lot more likely to just play the game without joining online communication about it. In order to really judge whether one age group enjoys the game more than another, one would need insight into Kavalri's player stats and revenues, which have not been shared anywhere as far as I know. From watching this all unfold from the sidelines, I have no doubts that Kavalri made some mistakes in terms of handling their community, but I've also seen *a lot* of completely unacceptable (entitled, rude, unrealistically demanding...) behavior from adult players that I would never tolerate in the communities I manage.

Perhaps, and perhaps I was more surrounded by the disappointed minority when basing my opinions. I certainly do not wish for ETG or Kavalri to 'fail' however I do feel my expectations were not met (and maybe that is my own fault). Regardless, thank you for the feedback! ♥

It's really disappointing ETG had potential if they took constructive criticism and they didn't over work their Mods and ambassadors that ran the discord server.
