Making realistic traffic is something I always struggle with, it's so hard to make vehicles look individual and not just carbon copies of each other
Thanks for showcasing our Toronto Project! It's an honour to be mentioned in the same video as so many other incredible city projects!

It’s always a good day when alpine uploads!
I'm still getting used to building good cities. Making one on my own on a server, one of the hardest things that I can't get used to is curved roads. I cannot do them to save my life lol

Great video! All of these builds are stunning. I'll have to visit the ones on servers at some point because they definitely look like a great source of inspiration

Thank you for making these awesome videos! Question: which do you think is better? Building a city in a flat world where nothing is in the way OR building a city on a normal map where you have natural features to work with?

Damn, I gotta go add some skateboard parks now. Get inspiration from all of these cities!
There is also such a city, built by a Russian architect - Saguenay. This year, the project is already 10 years old, and no one knows about it. It's on PlanetMinecraft
Thanks for giving me techniques for my city
Wow! What beautiful cities. Great hosting Matt!
Great inspiration thanks
"It's New York. What _can't_ you do?" *See the stars.*
Fantastic video! Maybe my city can be featured here one day!
Alpine is severly underrated bros
Thanks for info keep it up bro,
Thats crazy Very nice to see the amazing work of these builders I feel very low with my world on the playstation 🤣 i got a little tropical like island with a little city on it thats steady growing. But i play survival and would never be able to build such a city with my friends in one life time 🤣 but even in creative mode is this completly incredible to see this would not be possible in survival . But i can get some nices ideas from this incredible work. Much props !
I'd like to see you actually TOUR the city with some live footage. There wasn't much for minecraft content here with all the reference pictures to the actual city or inspiration photos. I'd love to see you tour these great projects in person with some commentary.
Alpine this whole video: yea buildings look nice.. BUT LOOK AT THE BUSSES AND TRAINS OH AND TREES.
The reason NYC has two skylines is not because of the soil. The actual reason is a financial one, uptown was always into things like stock and trade. This pushed the entertainment industry more up north. When Central Park was finished this created an ideal spot for the creative people to live and meet and also do business. When this business also exploded it created two Highrise spots with two different business/economic backgrounds.

Toronto is a great city in reality and it's very livable, but it's also very expensive. The Minecraft verison is fine and I love the detail there too. By the way, Alpine, have you been to Toronto before? To get there from your home city of Ottawa, drive along the southbound 416 and the westbound 401 or westbound Hwy 7 or take a single train to get there.
The truth about the “Skyscraper gap” in New York City is because thre wasn’t any demand for slyscraper construction in the gap, back then that’s where the tenements were, so developers moved thurther north to midtown, where there was demand.
Nice, ive seen the spotlight on your insta
thats so awesome :D
getting close to 100k day by day
You should have reviewed TheBuildingDucks final city release, its a great city
Can you also do a video on Project Zearth? Thanks!
Whenever I see a big project be done in video games, specifically Minecraft, I have an immense urge to destroy it and blow it up
Nice video mate
You should look at the cities in the Netherlands... they are the middle ground mostly
looks great
U should make this a series
Have you ever played Cities: Skylines? I feel like you would be great at it 😆

1:16 Oh, I also built that tan building on the right.
I clicked on this video without looking at the username, like most videos I click on. I haven't seen your videos in quite a while, so I forgot your cadence, voice and style of video. So when I heard you were going to judge the cities on their contextual elements I thought "Huh, that's odd, such a strange and yet detailed way of judging just minecr- this is fucking Alpine isn't it" 🤣

1:06 Oh cool I built that building on the right.
But where's everyone? It's crazy that people make these mind-blowing projects in Minecraft, it's one of the most popular games ever and yet you rarely see people walking about. I so wish I could walk down these places on psvr...
Underrated
1:38 the population is actually more than 20 million
9:34 the car is melting, omg
👍, nuff said.
8:50 Car go to what? Pls answer i relly wanna know where they go to lol
At 10:00, is that the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver?
Greenfield would've been a good candite
I'm making my own home town!
Just saying the soil theory in NYC is just a myth, the reason why there is a low rise section in the city is because that is where the workers used to live back in the early 1900's. The reason why there is that soil theory exists is because years later when geological surveys were done they noticed a soil softness change that almost perfectly coincided with the building heights, but that is purely coincidental.
"It's New York, the real question is what can't you do?" Obtain affordable housing.
You should check out Ambersyell from the Realism Society
I will add Probably a lot of stuff that I am unable to make, eventually.
The building restrictions now decreased in vanilla Minecraft so building cities must be more achievable now.
Me when I see a new alpine video: 😆😃
oh dang! i want him to explore and critique my city! ... i just have to build a city first

View lines are THE most important part about a city imo. You could have the coolest buildings ever, but if you don't have nice angles to show them off, that's basically worthless.
