Corey I call my goldfish naughty. They have eaten every plant, except a small anubis tucked in a decoration. They knock down the decorations, knock off the filter extender a d splash me in the eye while trying to feed them. They are too funny and never a dull moment.🤣🤣🤣🙄 Quick question when they lay eggs do they attach to everything? I can't figure out if it is new food not being eaten or not.🤷‍♀️ Had to clean the aquarium last night including everything inside the tank. They were much happier this morning. Not giving them any of the new food I purchased.

Woow, just before I put in an online order for aquatic plants. I had been doing some reading on plants I could fix in my goldfish tank. Perfect timing!

My goldfish (a veil-tail comet, I think) enjoys playing with moss balls. Another plants in her tank are emersed lucky bamboo, fully grown dwarf water lily, and water hyacinth. All doing nicely. Very tempted to try some bolbitis if I can find one!

I just got 2 crinums and 2 Java ferns from you guys for my goldfish tank and I put them in easy planters so they won't be messed with. There is some melting on the crinum after several days as expected, but I can't wait to see it grow overtime!

Tried all of these in the past and the crinum was the only survivor, the moss balls were a disaster they destroyed them and there was moss ball throughout the tank. I've had success with vallisneria gigantea as it grows quickly and they don't seem to like the taste!

Thanks! I was able to intervene and save my moss balls when they started picking at them, but all my java ferns were uprooted or eaten, my amazon sword and micro sword were both chewed down to the roots, and all my hornwort and bacopa vines were picked barren. I'll give those two plants a shot. If they don't work, there's always room in my other tanks.

Would you recommend still adding nutrients such as excel or flourish?

My fish love nibbling on elodea. I grow it in a second, smaller tank and put it in there purely for them to enjoy.

My goldfish really liked the taste of the moss balls I used in my tank

What gravel do you suggest for goldfish tank? Any particular sand or mixture of sand and gravel you recommend? What lights do you recommend for the plants? Look forward to hearing from you, my tank looks depressing empty with only one goldfish.

A lily pad plant is pretty good plant as well people always think they should only be in ponds but they look good in aquariums too and they have thick stems that wont get eaten just tie down roots like other plants

My goldfish have moss balls and mouse ear plant. So far so good. I feed them cichlid excel and omega one gold fish food. They seem to prefer the food. They've demolish the odd moss ball. I hear java moss is ok so I might try grow it on some type of mesh and stick it in with suction cups. My problem is looking at my tank it reminds me of a swimming pool look.

Another I would suggest is Pythos quick growers and suck up nitrate well. They also don’t need a lot of sun

You did a video earlier this year showing how to remove plants from the pots, prep and glue to rocks. I can't find it anywhere. It was very informative for me and I'm ready to plant.

I ordered a 2 inch fahaka puffer I’m going to have to keep it in a 5 gallon quarantine tank for two months any advice it comes in two days

I just toss hornwort in and it does the job lol. Probably the only plant I’ve had no problems with.

Yeah they pick the individual pines off them until there is nothing left.

I never cared for goldfish before, especially the "modified" ones. However after watching your videos I have become fascinated with them. In particular I enjoy the black and white (lion Head?) swim and feed.loveable little guy.

Hey dude, love the channel especially when you visit Dean.. Where are you located ?? I thought I heard you were in Delaware.. If so, my wife's sister and brother-in-law live there in Milton, close to Rehoboth Beach.. They come down 3 or 4 times a year, to Virginia.. If you are from around there, I may purchase some fish from you and they can bring them down.. I would buy one of those battery powered air pumps and have it shipped to them before and they should make it down with no problems.. If you aren't from there, I will wait until spring and get some fish shipped here.. You are straight up crazy for going to Japan, dude.. That place in totally radiated and not safe at all.. What about hornwort? I’m having great luck with it in my goldfish tank

Water lilies (but them let them grow a bit first) :) The lily is the only plant in my pond they don't destroy.

What kind of air bubbles are those? Are they weighted or suction cupped?

Vallesneria I'd imagine would work well. They have thicker leaves, big roots, and are longgggg.

what kind of glue do you use thats safe to glue plants to decorations? brand name would be appreciated. also where can i learn more about how to do so? links? trying badly to learn for my goldfish. i've been using fishing line.

I found that if you get a thick enough mat of moss they can't destroy it. They love trying to rip it up but they usually aren't strong enough I have them in a 75 and its filled with moss.

do you guys keep fancys in store?

Sir i get an internal filter with air flow and that one sucks all poop of my goldie and cleans the tank bit i always changes 30% water every weak. I don't have any substrate in the tank so that's easy to clean. 😄

I'm keeping plants and goldfish together with great success in my plastic bin goldfish aquarium video...

Just jam a ton of hornwort in your tank. The goldfish will have plenty of fun foraging for and nibbling every tiny little crumb stuck within its leaves. Since hornwort just floats in the water; no worries about it being uprooted; it's a floating plant. It looks grate, when a bunch of it's, in the tank.

I have anubias, Cryptocoryne Balansae and cryptocoryne wendtii with goldfish

No but it's better with it. You can also use sand (I do in my tropical tank). It needs a lot of washing first but looks nicer.

Next video could be what plants to grow specifically to feed your gold fish!

I had terrible results putting zucchini in my goldfish tank (for my pleco). They loved it. and then they ate it. And then they realized they could eat my Anubias and they won't stop x.x . The tank was established with these fish over a year before they met the zucchini and moved their palette to the plants lol

I have 2 common and 3 comets. They ate everything I had in my tank including Java fern, Java moss and amazon swords. They don't eat with my anubias barteri. I have a high light Tank, and need something to shade the anubias.

What sizes tank to you have?

I have java fern and anubias in with my goldfish. Like those plants as they don't need to be planted into substrate

Yes, pretty much all aquarium plants prefer room temps vs the tropical temps we keep them at.

I recently got my first goldfish which are little feeders I fell in love with while I was working at Petco. Currently there in a bare bottom 5.5 gallon with a little castle, but I know they're gonna get MUCH bigger. I just started putting plants in my betta tank and I've been propagating pothos to put in my frog's tank, so I fully intend on putting some plants in with the goldies eventually.

My goldfish is a 'food hunter' and eats everything. I bought it when it was around 2 inches but now around 9 inches and the problem comes. I've Anubias Berteri with large strong leaves but it just eats the young leaves that have not grown strong enough! I end up move the plants to one end of the tank and built a fence so that it can see the plants but can't get through. Then I added more plants even with small leaves :-) I can feel it was not happy at the beginning but is now looks okay and get used to this setup!

What about floating plants like water lettuce

i put a bunch of floating plants in my goldfish tank, excess from my guppy tank and the goldfish ate them all in a day OMG! lol

I bought my goldfish from Petco, the tank said Comet goldfish. I shared my fish to a Facebook group... everybody screamed at me!!!! They are common... Not Comet !!! Lol Only one has a longer tail fin, the other four have a shorter tail. Body types all look the same. The coloring on them is a little bit different two are more gray looking... one of the orange ones had a lot of black that's all turns orange and one of the orange ones is turning white. Anyway, in one of your question-and-answer videos... you said common and Comet are the same! The group I'm in seems to think that shortround tells our common and anything that has a longer fancy flowing tail is a comet. The research I did doesn't really specify!? Could you do a video just on the differences and or there's No difference!?! Lol

I have a question please. My goldfish are just the ordinary comet type and 2 shubunkins. Can I keep them in an open top tank like yours or will they jump out ? Thank you 🙂

Usually they won’t jump out. Not impossible but usually only happens if they get spooked.

Tbh i had luck with smaller anubias species. My goldie is not too big tho, to be fair (stunted growth rescue).

vallisneria does well in my goldfish tank. The only other one of those I've tried, was Heteranthera, and the fish ate it entirely.
