For anyone looking for brown contact lenses for dark skin, I’d like to build on Fonze’s list from most challenging to favs - Very light for dark complexions - Solitica Hidrocore Ocre, Solitica Hidorcore Avela (they look identical, all you will see if your iris but with a lot of hair and makeup maybe, on me they look zombie like), Fake looking iris and dark limbal ring (Atrix Optix Honey, Alcon Dailies in Hazel, mainstream product in the USA, probably works for Fonz because he is white), Realistic light brown with a subtle limbal ring - Anesthesia Asthetic Tan (pretty everyday look if you want to run errands or dress up, like Solitica Ocre Natural Colors without the black limbal ring), Make your eyes look brown instead of black so that you can see your pupils - Anesthesia Maroon (great for playing up eyes with blue liner or wine shadow). Look naturally and mysteriously gorgeous without feeling like you need to put on lashes and a wig to pull it off and make people wonder why you look so good - Anesthesia Lolita. Totally gorgeous. An honorable mention - Color CL Cinnamon. It’s a nice medium brown but the color is a little off for me - a little red perhaps? If you are like Victoria and you like that, then by all means. I thought it would be good for contrast without being too light or too dark. But, I felt like I needed to work it with hair and make-up - instead of putting them in for casual everyday use like I wanted, if that makes sense. Some tips for ethnic people - you want a solid color, maybe dots, but avoid heavy printing trying to imitate an iris or colors with yellow around the pupil or Icy colors. The iris detail is likely more convincing on white people who could be a brunette with blue eyes, for example, but on us it looks artificial or that we have bug eyes (adds dimension). This is why ColorCL’s Queen Brown looks awful on just about everyone who has posted a video on this; avoid the Queen collection - except maybe the Queen Chocolate. Choose the color relative to your skin color. I’m of medium complexion. And, I look best in colors that are slightly lighter or darker than my skin tone. Colors like Solitica Hidrocor Grafite (Bluish Grey), Buzios (Deep Green), and even Topazio Natural Colors work well for me because they are the deeper shades. ColorCL Romance Black Romance India also looks fantastic. But, I don’t look right when the iris is too light. So, Solitica Hidrocor Avela or Ocre are no go for me. The lightest I can go is Mel. I think it works because it’s green. If you like to be out there, try ColorCL Romance Black Romance Sandia (purple); pair it with purple hair color or purple make-up and go for it. Point is, it’s about finding that happy medium between too light to look real and too dark to see but staying on the deeper size. I would not recommend going any darker than Maroon. Regarding colors... I like something with pizazz but I don’t want to get the wrong type of attention. I have a warm complexion (yellow/green more so than red/blue). So, colors like an Olive Green (yellow green), Greyish Blue (a toned down blue), Turquoise (yellow-blue), Honey (yellowish brown) work for me. But, if you are more cool toned, you might like Emerald Green, Sapphire Blues, Cinnamon browns. Sandy Browns, Greys, and whatever Anesthesia Lolite are probably universal colors. Regarding design, avoid anything with a large pupil opening. You will look like you are on drugs. Or have bug eyes. So, compare the pictures and avoid anything where the model looks like she has a larger than usual pupil. Be mindful that if the model has brown eyes, you have to look past that as the large pupil may not be as obvious. If you did end up buying something that you feel might be too light, check it in the sunlight and wear it only at night - as Fonz recommends. Anyways, I hope that this helps someone.

I’ve been waiting for this forevermore!!!!! YES I COMPLETELY AGREEE!!!! The perfect shade of hazel that really pop is difficult to make. I’m yet to find the perfect bright shade. Only if Solotica can make that bright golden lens which pop, I will be a happy camper. Not green, brown, not slight greenish, but golden yellow hazel.

Fun fact, color contacts looks much better in people with really dark brown eyes because the eyes and pupil almost look like the same color so once the contact is in even if a little of the natural eye color show people will think is your pupil, my eyes are naturally hazel, it starts light brown and goes into a dark green, but if I try to use contact it will hide the green I already have and expose the light brown especially that my pupil reacts to light and gets very small over any light :(

Hidrocor Avela are the best. The problem with the annual lenses of solotica that sometimes you feel uncomfortable in the eye with them. Does it happen to you too guys?

They do feel a bit dry after a few hours of wearing them, mostly because the material is tougher in order to last a year. :/

I got the addict Marron I hated it so much looked fake on me. I got the solotica natural ocre looked so natural and people wouldn’t tell if it’s contacts or my real eyes

The little circles in the contacts allows one to tell them apart from a real iris.

I use hidrocor rio Buzios because it is so natural

I have hazel eyes...but with me...it is more leaning towards brown....you can only see the hazel color in lighter rooms.

Thank you for this video. I am trying to get the perfect brown-hazel color like my dad's, something between hidrocor avela and colorblend honey. Hidrocor avela look like mud in my eyes and I want something subtle, so I thing I am going to try the LA Mocha. Already tried natural colors ocre, but too big. I have been using color lenses since they came into the market in 1987 and this Solotica and Anesthesia are impressive. Again thanks!
