I tried a number of Tom Andersons in the late 80s. Loved them all. Absolutely superb craftsmanship.

Your abilities AMAZE me! That second chord (a funky E) and phrasing (whatever that funky pickup note was) was awesome. Heck, the entire performance was awesome.

It's inspiring to watch you play Tim. Especially knowing that you can shred when ever you want but you choose to serve the song you're soloing over. I've found that to be one of the most difficult things to do since I entered the intermediate stage of my journey.

Definitely not just guitars!! All sounds coming from Tim pierce's soul and his fingers. Even with any low quality guitar, he can produce sounds the way he wants. We call them 'pro'. I give him lots of respect for what he is doing for his followers. Thank you.

Great video. I own a Strat style Hollow S Cobra Tom Anderson and it is the fastest guitar I have ever played, it is so smooth and fits like a glove in your hand. I got it after surviving hurricane Katrina.

I had a green atom from the same year with medium frets. This is very much due to pick up choice and of course play style and feel. The best thing to do is talk to Roy, tell him what fretboard you like the most and let him take it from there

I’m considering Anderson pickups. What’s in the raven? Looking for open sounding high output dual hums that will split well. HC3+ and H2 something for the neck? any TA users that could chime in?

Recently took a closer look at Tom Anderson guitars and I’ve completely revised my bucket list.

I’ve played a Warmoth Tele for the last 14 years that was intended to get me close to a real TA Cobra, and I have no regrets. If nothing else, you’ve gotta try their pickups. I used the H3+/H1+ for 10 years, but then moved down to the H3/H1. The H series pickups are all great. Through high-end amps, their hotter pickups just eat all get gain you throw at them. Phenomenal balance, and they split better than almost anything out there. That all said, if you can afford the real thing, pull the trigger.

Nice guitars.

Maybe you do occasionally review some lower priced guitars, but if not, I would like to suggest that you review some guitars that are more attainable by the average working musician. Most of us don't have five grand to lay down for an Anderson. However, there are lots of great instruments out there for under a grand. It took me many years to escape the programming that convinced me I had to spend thousands in order to sound good. I think that as a service to your viewers, you should emphasize the value of some lower cost instruments as well. Maybe take a look at Hendrix, Page, and Beck, who all played mid-range guitars right off the guitar shop wall, or VanHalen and Clapton, who played "parts" guitars. Just a thought for your consideration.

Tim: I have long known you were great, but man...just the consummate professional! Anderson's are terrific guitars indeed, but I'm more like your good bud Pete Thorn: Suhr. :) Love to see your collection of Suhr's since I am quite sure you own a few! cheers!

@@Dabologist You quoting Tyler? LMFAO. They're all good, and ya know what, Tyler is better than Suhr AND TA. Suhr and TA are great guitars that are worth the price. BUT, when I picked up a Tyler, WOW. I digress. Dude, drop it. Suhr and TA are absolutely in the same ballpark. I have multiple of each, and my two favorite are 1) A Suhr Classic and 2) A TA Drop Top. All that said, I intend to get a Tyler sometime soon.

..".had humbuckers, single coils, humbuckers, single coils..." haha! I know that cycle. I recently converted one SSS Strat to the Dan Armstrong Blender mod -- rewires the Strat second tone control to a blender that allows you to go from SSS to HSH and anything in between. I love it as it is quite intuitive operation and it integrates better than physical SSH layouts. There's a well done video about the wiring on the "Breja Toneworks" YT channel. I have converted three guitars with it so far.

As far as I can tell on KZread this is the definitive Tom Anderson review. Tim pretty much has a collection of all the best ones with a couple of exceptions. I would include the baritom, which only if you know the right people, and you’re willing to shell out around $4000 would you get one. No regrets here. Also the crowdster. For that style of guitar it’s the best hands down. A couple of cons with Tom Anderson’s besides the price, which by the way is actually more than fair, which until you play one you can’t really saying anything. Number one is the finishing. It’s outdated, and even some of the new stuff that supposed to look “stressed”, is just lame. Not as lame as sur or PRS, and they Play better and sound better - but for the top three boutique guitars out there that supposedly lack character, which no doubt TA guitars suffer from - they are the best. I wonder if in the 90s Tim had a natural finish, because he didn’t love the finishes from Tom Anderson and wanted to get something custom done? Number to critique would be that they don’t carry their full line at all times… Gee I wonder if Gibson had anything to do with that - those litigious pricks? I wanted a bobcat for the longest time until they stop making them. Number three critique is the turnover time is rather long, and sometimes Roy can be a little bit difficult to work with if you want something super custom. All of the aforementioned are quite silly things so let’s get onto the fun part. First, I really want to buy a raven, haven’t played one, they look kick ass. A lot of people don’t know this but Tom Anderson guitars are all custom built by hand in Southern California. Roy runs the website does the photography and is a part of every sale. He is one of the funniest and most intriguing people you’ll ever encounter. Even if you don’t buy a Tom Anderson, but are interested, the phone call you have with Roy will stick with you forever. I love that man. Also, next to Roy‘s office is Tom. Tom plays every single guitar before it is sent out to make sure it is perfect. No joke, if you’re playing a Tom Anderson, that means his fingers touched your guitar before you did. Paul Reed Smith is purported to have the same kind of quality control, but come on how could that be possible for those Korean PRS’s? The classic droptop is the best tele or Strat style boutique guitar you will find anywhere, hands-down. Tom’s original pick ups are incredible, and the electronics in those guitars are the best in the world. Tom actually invented the idea of the droptop which now everyone uses. You don’t see Tom Anderson suing anyone do you? Class, precision, integrity - and above all fun! More recently the mini golden humbuckers and the new J trem bar they are installing into their guitars are revolutionary. Oh and the VA. Definitely, if you are a studio player or producer get the VA boost. Another Tom Anderson original. This is also great if your amp has an attenuation function. However, and I can’t believe every new boutique guitar doesn’t include this yet, if you are an engineer or a producer, holy crap, the VA boost is the next big thing. I know they’re expensive but if you’re going to buy a solid body boutique guitar order one from Tom Anderson. They may seem expensive, but they are not, and given that they are the best, they are an amazing investment. if you could hold onto them for 10 or 20 years, since they are all hand crafted, and factory made, there are very few of them. Need I say more? Unfortunately they don’t make hollow bodies, in which case I would recommend a Duesenburg star player if we’re talking about boutique. Sorry PRS, but the lack of character does it make up for the incredible build. Duesenburgs, with that trim bar, with the humbucker on the bridge in the P90 in the neck, will instantly make any semi hollow body guitar obsolete in your collection. So sell your 335, sell your Ricky or your Gretsch and buy a Dusenburg. If you have a custom tele or a custom Les Paul, and they both sound amazing, it’s harder to endorse shelling out the cash for a TA. But, if you’re thinking about a longer scale Mustang or jaguar, definitely buy one of these new TA Raven’s with those mini golden humbuckers.

Daaang that offset one sounds fantastic. The LP style ones are butt-ugly but also sound pretty great.

I love TA guitars. They just have a quality feel to them.

Why Tom make copy from Fender, Les Paul and no NEW ideas about form, color, and other moments.?

Great playing. If you can play like Tim plays you won't need a day job, then you'll have enough time to be able to practice for an insane amount of time every day, just like Tim does. So if you can afford to not work for a couple of years and are self-discipline enough to practice for six hours a day minimum you too can play like Tim does. If you can't afford to give up work you'll just have to get used to a bit less sleep,not going out with friends, in fact not having any friends who don't play, not watching any T.V., and thinking about nothing that isn't in some way guitar related, then you might stand a chance of being able to play as well as Tim.
