Don’t forget Ford Australia supplied most of the Cleveland power for the De Tomaso Pantera apart from the first few as the USA decided to stay with the Windsor and Australia built the Cleveland Geelong until 1984. & also Australia’s Bolwell Nagari was Cleveland powered both 302 & 351’s.

Ok I agree with everything except Barra being 1st as I've owned a 302 Windsor el xr8 320rwhp and a 351 clevo xe 380rwhp but also owned a bf2 XR6 turbo stock tuned 380 rwhp and now have a bf tonner greentop e85 pushing 580rwhp that throws you back harder than all the Ford's I've had previously. Its hard to admit that technology has beaten the old-school but it is what it is and the Barra as you said, should be feared by all who challenge it .(don't think I'm 1 sided I also owned a vn ss 5.0l and vr Calais 5.0l vyss 5.7 and most recently a wn caprice l77 6.0 and yes they were all great cars and fun to drive but the Barra turbo is in its own world)cheers for the uploads I'm enjoying your channel alot ✌️👍

We used to go to the boat races at keepit dam back in the 60’s, there was a boat there called “Buster” with a big Ford V8 engine (428 BOSS I think), was frightening to see that thing leap out of the water, sounded awesome with the big o’head pipes and pumped out a wash tail that could clean the streets of a big city I reckon. Love my Fords, I have a XR8 Sprint that i will keep for a long time. I remember my dad telling me when he was alive that they bought a ford XY ute when he was younger and it was meant to have a 302 in it and somehow they ended up with a 351 in it. It would spin the wheels going down hill changing gears, too bad a metal fence pole got stuck through the radiator when they where in the paddock with it and decided to drive it home which it didn't survive.

The clevelands had a habit of splitting bores when used for high performance applications they developed this L shaped crack down the bore and then it turned 90% and run along the thick part of the casting at the bottom of the cyl. I believe that Moffat sourced his blocks from Canada which were supposedly a thicker casting. I still remember once spending a saturday fitting 8 what are called c sleeves into a 351 clevo used for a drag car with the sleeves coming in A,B, AND C thicknesses with c being rarely used as they were so thick and usually not necessary plus you bored away a big% of the parent bore. Anyway next time i saw the guy i asked he he went answer he said it was going great until i missed a gear and threw a rod.

The FE Cleveland and Coyote. I wish that the Cleveland had been a 4.63 bore spacing so that the heads could have fit the FE. The thing is when you look at a Coyote, the architecture is a lot like the FE. No cam tunnel, but many things that they learned from the 60s are in the Coyote. And the heads though OHC takes much from the Cleveland. Those three engines were the evolution of the Ford OHV engines.

My thoughts were for sure the 300 inline 6 cylinder and the 302 V-8 would be in that line up... But they came from out in left field with this very misleading intro title to the vid,,, I have worked 300 6 cylinders for well over 300k in 2 different trucks and 1 van, and 302 motors over 300k twice in vans during my construction years... The only issue I myself ever had with the 300 six was the rear main starts to weep after 175-200k, but they're easy to change out really. Just a couple of hours and a twelve pack back in the day.

Agree on most parts asides from a turbo Barra sounding bad, a big straight 6 turbo esp one breathing right sounds awesome. Bogans straight piping them or blocking the BOV for that idiotic 'dose' effect or a Non turbo barra however yeah that's a hard nah. Anyway keep up the good vids 👍

hmm bogan selection right there, no boss 429 or sohc , there's way more to Ford engines than what is in Australia, the best offerings of a home grown Ford V8 are 5.6 handbuilt 250kw Windsor for the te/ts/TL au's and the superchard Miami , both were massive Australian achievements, you forgot the godfather of the Barra, the 250 2V that was the very basis of the Barra and without it the development wouldn't have made it as far, as for the 1600 Kent motor that deserved a real place as most Ford guys started driving the itty bitty crossflow at the start of there Ford journey
