Yes!! For real!! I just bought mine in Japan and I can't wait for it to arrive, it's not "full" stock, it has a catback exhaust (cat is still present), HKS intake, and watanabe wheels, and I think it's lowered but it's not on coilovers Radio is aftermarket, but everything else is bone stock, and I will put another exhaust on it a nicer looking one and keep it as is! New radio and a good subwoofer and that's it...

I see my red Zenki Coupe there towards the end with the HKS exhaust. It's definitely a great addition to my car. The car sounds even better now with a Fujitsubo header.

Having owned 3 86's, this is by far the WORST video I have seen about it. "Top 5 mods you should do to an 86" First one being maintenance... Ummmm, that's not even a freaking mod but you made it the top of the list. If we're talking maintenance then dealing with RUST and the typical engine, rebuild, reseal, tbelt wp, suspension, brakes should be priority, not door hinges. All of them do sag but it's one of the last things i'd do unless you're really already having to lift the door to close it. The 86's obviously will need maintenance before you start modifying it given it's age and probably its hard life. JDM bumpers... Really man? like a ton of 86's already do have those and that hardly even improves anything for the price. Also can't really call it much of a mod when the car is already equipped from the factory with those bumper if you're in Japan obviously. An HKS exhaust? That does pretty much nothing for performance specially with the stock ecu setup if you have a usdm car. If you're after improving the driving performance of this classic and want some REAL top 5 mods then Tyres, an LSD (if not already equipped), Suspension, Brakes and a shorter final drive would be your best bet. I'd improve the driving position, a bucket, wheel, short shifter just to make yourself closer to being "one" with the car would be number 6 on that list. The list can go on forever depending how deep you want to go. swaps, itbs, 4 links etc etc. This video is geared more towards your typical, 18 yr old kid who just got his first car or 86, initial D fanboy, likely wanting to paint his car the tofu livery and not so much the driving, car enthusiast which this car was ultimately made for. Ok, at least you added some suspension stuff on the vid. On that note, I was 19 once.. bought my first 86, rust and bondo to shit, ran decent but required maintenance. My first mods before any kind of maintenance, mayybe just an oil change: Stripped the interior and threw them in the garbage (which I regret today) A Carbon fibre drop vent hood, and konig rewind rims on some cheap ass nexen tires on the rear and falken azenis upfront. A year later it had a Cusco MZ LSD.😆 Personally, an AE86 is best modified to be "OE plus" Not to be overly modified but stay somewhat original, with some improved, modern bits while still keeping its 80's spirit. Theres way better cars out there that can achieve better performance on track for the price while still being reliable and easy to get parts for.

@@SidewaysEightSix while I agree that maintenance is priority, I completely disagree that maintenance is a modification. Changing the stock brakes to big brakes etc… got it? Lol
